A little bit more of an in depth video to show for new sewers who aren’t as familiar with what all of those different things would be great.

did you snip the 4 courners of each square like in a 90 degrees and remove some of the square. I hope that makes sense. It just looks like there some fabric missing on each corner of the squares.

My feeder dogs won't move back and forth at all. I removed the thread and fabric to see what's going on. The feeder dogs will only go up and down

I want to make my daughter a king size rag quilt but I wanted to put two layers of cotton like a regular quilt but put batting in the middle cutting it smaller of course I believe the only difference would be the ragging the way it looks because it don't fray like flannel does. Do you have an example of this kind of rag quilt?

I have to say though that I open my seams which is a personal choice. For me, it just looks nicer I think but again, no right or wrong. Just a preference..

Did you cut off the corners of each block. I don’t recall you stating this in the video? I often wondered if that would be easier to sew later on. I imagine it will be…please comment anyone???

Is it just me or is there no backing to this quilt? I don’t see where she sewed the backing on, just row to row with front/flannel, 2 pieces?
@annettecroshaw372610 күн бұрын
It appears she has only used the cotton print and a flannel backing, with no batting filler in the centre. So the front is patterned and the back is white flannel. Probably a lighter quilt compared to batting sandwiched between pattern front and back.

Necchi 535FA problem is the dial to control dropping and raising feed dogs seems to have no effect as the bullet is stuck and will not slide into the part that raises and lowers the feed dogs with each stitch resulting in the feeed dogs only move forward and backward. Hod do I get the bullet to come out and into the part that raises and lowers the feed dogs. I have oiled it, let et set, added heat, repeated. Finally tried WD-40 chased by sewing machine oil. When I turn the dial to control raising and lowering the feed dogs the rod it connects to does not move. Please some suggestions. The machine was given to me a few days ago. It has a nice cosmetic appearance and the inside only needed minimal cleaning effort, and I oiled each spot where metal touches metal.

Yes, if the thread keeps popping out of the needle, the problem is usually the needle. Some things I do: - Change the needle. It might be nicked or dull - Change the needle to a different size. That’s a trick that works as well. - Rethread. Sometimes the thread gets knocked loose while sewing, and you have to rethread it.

When I turned my sewing machine around I removed the free arm, and then you can see the switch for the integrated feed dog. 0:02

Well my feeder dog didn’t move the fabric. Turned the machine completely around & there is a switch that was moved to the left & when I moved it to the right it started sewing again. Never had this problem. Been sewing forever. Just finished a quilted pillow for a friend.
