C1 Spark 2x miles card I called into C1 without speaking to rep to cancel card. And they have the automated system where they ask you to state why you’re calling. I said cancel card and they said confirm you want to cancel so I said yes and next thing I knew the card was canceled.

Clear is pretty useless if you have precheck. last two airports I have been to (LAX, MSP), the Clear staff are actively directing you away from clear lane. pretty useless.

I used the new CLEAR terminal in Orlando before Thanksgiving. I wasn't impressed with the lack of privacy. Your name is right there in the open. Older terminals had side panels blocking some angles to the screen. The new terminals have a huge screen with a font for your name in the center.

Congrats on soon jumping off of the AMEX Coupon Card train. I cancelled my Platinum card several months ago for similar reasons after years of using it and having grown tired of the hoops I needed to jump through in order to justify the value I was receiving by having the card. The only thing I miss is the Centurion lounges if I am traveling a lot. Otherwise, I recently picked up the Ritz card to have an easy and flat $300 annual travel credit instead. Plus, my home airport just opened a Chase lounge which also made it an easy decision for me.

RJ, I have closed a few synchrony credit cards without talking to an agent. So there are banks doing this. I don’t think it’s that uncommon. 😂 RJ saying he hates the business gold card. He did the exact thing AMEX hates is people get there cards just for the SUB and not use the card lol. I won’t be surprised if the af goes up on their cards next year esp the platinum.

I think Hyatt has a cult following more than IHG. If I were to compare it to cell phones then Hyatt would be the iPhone and IHG would be Samsung. IHG is ubiquitous and has a lot of diversity, but Hyatt is very trendy and has good marketing with content creators who are de facto evangelists for the brand lol.

I've closed a few Amex accounts without talking to a person. That's been possible for years. I think it only happens if there is no available retention offer. Otherwise it will redirect you to a representative.

I’ve never had any personal BofA cards and am typically team travel but I’m a bit flush with points and looking to boost general cash back without having to open a ton of category cards I’ll probably keep the USBAR as long as they support it but I do have a lot of non mobile wallet spend

US Bank is a real bank for Americans, and together we're going to make our banking powerful again!

I'm still waiting for the Smartly Card in the mail, but not sure I can get it beyond 3%. The trading and IRA platform at US Bank is so antiquated. Not sure if I will even be able to maintain the current threshold after 5 months, because the CD rate I received at 4% won't be there. So, probably dropping back to 2.5% and going to pick up a Shoppers Advantage Card.

I cancelled my Unlimited Cash Rewards card and only kept my Customized Cash Rewards card and was able to move my 2K credit line on it over to the CCR
