When I was first recruited into the Special Forces Group as an Intelligence Sergeant my Master Sergeant asked me if I knew Morse Code and Semaphore, I reluctantly told him I did not but will learn it immediately. Even in the age of 21st Communication and Digital Cryptology, systems can and do go down. And when you need to a message can be "Keyed Out" over an otherwise inoperable radio using Morse Code (SF has a Brevity Code book just for that), and if you have line of sight, even with a drone orbiting 30,000 feet above the battlefield Semaphore can be very useful. It's not just Boy Scouts that should learn the "Old Ways"... I did. SSG. U.S. Army (Medically Retired) Infantry / Sniper / SOF Intel (SOT-A), multiple tours

Even though i watched a bunch of your awesome series, YT hasn’t suggested any of your videos. This tells me there must be a setting in your account that you need to flip in order for YT to start suggesting your videos.

I watched 7 episodes yesterday and today KZbin should have suggested more of your videos. It didnt. This tells me there must be a reason why YT isn’t suggesting your videos. In my opinion it could be that you have a setting turned off, like paid ads. Christian should comb through all the settings and figure out which setting KZbin wants me to turn on so that it begins suggesting the videos.

I make a terrible American! I don't know anything about football or sports. I know people make a big deal of it, but that was intense! Never been a part of a party or celebration like that.

One of my favorite things I did as a Boy Scout, was I listened to a tree drink water. What?! It was -40 and absolutely still. It was so silent that you could put your ear up to a tree and hear water! Nobody believed me at first then another scout tried it and he heard it. I was asked how I knew to try it. I responded with I kept hearing water and couldn't figure out where it was coming from till I got closer to the trees.

I just finished binging Old Scout and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it! I found the channel while searching for semaphore videos to teach real Boy Scouts the Signs, Signals, and Codes merit badge. Your field guide was the best I found at showing both the front and back view! (Also, if you want to practice more, I highly recommend playing semaphore battleship). The Girl Scouts in my hometown were lame and I was always jealous of my friends in Boy Scouts. Then I met my husband who is an Eagle Scout and still an active adult leader. I ended up becoming an Assistant Scoutmaster too and started off with teaching myself the scouting skills I never learned as a kid- just not as intensely as Old Scout! I loved everything about Old Scout- the scout spirit, commitment, production value, just everything!
