Just watched your upload Brenda and had to jump on to add some comments. Firstly, thanks for using your platform to highlight the excellent artwork that is created by your viewers. It's a great testament to how much people respect your knowledge and help that they're all willing to show their artwork to the world. What an amazing selection of work there was in that batch. It covered a huge variety of topics and the level of skill was extraordinary. Once again I'd find it impossible to select a winner if it was competition, the talent and skill is exceptional. Well done everyone. Finally, I'll make sure that I start, and finish, another project his year in readiness for January 2025 😊 Keep up the great work Brenda, I love watching your uploads and, even now, I'm still being taught newer and better ways to improve thanks to your tutorials.

@PyrographyMadeEasy7 күн бұрын
Hi Cheryl, Welcome to the exciting world of pyrography. I hope you find it as enjoyable as I do. It will be interesting to see how your painting background influences your burning. I have a drawing background, so I tend to use the pyrography pens the same way I would a pencil. I have an acquaintance who is a painter and sometimes does pyrography. Some of her burn strokes look like they were applied with a paint brush. I tried to mimic the look, but couldn't do it. Thank you for the kind words on a video I find a bit cringey. We all have to start somewhere. I doubt cringey is really a word, but I'm using it anyways. :)

Welcome to the exciting artform called pyrography! I hope you will come to love it as much as I do. No to both. When I was working and doing what I enjoyed, I wrote programs. Unfortunately, the majority of my work was boring and/or I didn't enjoy. For example, I was the person who had to train all of the new employees in my department. Hated that, but might be why I seem to do well explaining things on KZbin. :)

2 questions…. What temperature are you using..? and do you bend the nib to make it a flatter angle..?
@PyrographyMadeEasy9 күн бұрын
Yes, I bend the nibs to probably a 40 degree angle. Here's a shorts video demonstrating what I do. kzbin.infowVAY2566TjE The temperature I burn at is meaningless information because there are too many variables. I wrote a community post covering this common question. Here's a link to the post: kzbin.infoUgzkHVl6Z_oCR-jwgp94AaABCQ Hope the information helps

Thank you. I saw that. Thank you for letting me know I didn't explain things very well. The pyrography took 11 3/4 hours. I didn't keep track of the background work. FYI - if you ever want to know this type of information on other projects I put it in the video description. I also put what sort of material I'm burning and the size of the image. There are probably a couple of video where I forgot to do this, but the more recent videos I've been good about it. :)

@@PyrographyMadeEasy Mandala art must require a patience level I do not have. And I do not normally enjoy looking at Mandelas, however your Mandela art stood out from the first glance. It's what I call a 'traffic stopper.' Ability to pull somebody up in their tracks to take a second look at the artwork is what all artist are hoping to achieve - and you have it with this one. You are also a fabulous teacher. You're not only achieved it, you have skillfully explained how you achieved it. Your total contrast throughout the work is excellent and very sufficiently to make the Mandela interesting. However, you have lifted it above good to excellent by breaking free from the formality with the addition of the dragonfly. By using the white pencil at the main focal point around the dragonflies eyes, increasing the contrast of light and shade in that one area you have lifted the work to perfection. Given everybody who watched it necessarily necessary knowledge to elevate their own artworks. Quite an impressive artwork and tutorial.

Wow. I'm very flattered with your high praise. To me this was just a lot of fun. Mostly because it involved working on small detail items. That's probably why I like mandala designs...all of those small parts making an interesting pattern. :) Thank you again for such a super nice comment!
