Oh dear, Brenda, I am extremely disappointed at seeing this. I cannot believe you are encouraging people to CHEAT at pyrography, maybe not directly encouraging , but it will indeed help encourage it. Using these lasers on wood just makes it very hard for us genuine custom pyrographers to sell our hard work , taking sometimes many hours ,to get the price we see as reasonable for our hard work, when people can just buy these lasers and knock out exact replicas in minutes and then be able to charge a fraction of the price , that we need to charge to make it worthwhile doing it. Of course we do it because we love doing it but, we still need to make it worthwhile doing as in a small business.. These type of machines will kill our custom work. I`m really gutted to see such a super artist as yourself promoting this cheating machine ! Its because of machines such as this that the true "art" of Pyrography ,drawing or Painting is in danger of being lost to up & coming budding artists who will see the easy option to get one of these and cheat then putting it down to "their work" when really its a machines work.

I appreciate you taking the time to calming explain your point of view. I can understand that you are upset, but using a laser to replace pyrography wasn't my intent with this review. Quite truthfully, I don't see a laser as replacing pyrography. For one thing the quality a laser produces isn't close to what pyrography does....except on leather. Instead, I think a laser can supplement the offerings of a pyrography artist. To me a laser is a way to replicate artwork that has been created to sell as engraved copies. This, in my mind, is the same thing as selling prints of original artwork. Obviously I didn't convey concept this well in my review. Let's face it, whether we like it or not, the majority of people are not willing to pay what handcrafted artwork is worth. Most of the people I encounter want to pay me less than what someone at McDonald's makes per hour. All of the unsolicited "offers" I've received for my artwork have been extremely insulting. For example, some guy offered me $50 for artwork that took me 10 hours to create. A laser might be a way to cater to those who can't or won't pay for original artwork. This might be decent way to supplement the artist's income.

@@PyrographyMadeEasy thank you Brenda for replying its appreciated. I must point out I`ve followed you for quite some time now and learned a great deal from you if not everything I know, and for that I can`t thank you enough. to me your are Superb and I can only hope I become as good as you one day . Now when I saw you in this video of "lasers" It shocked me . Because I know ,I also go through what you do . I spend hours carefully doing intricate burning yet I can rarely find anyone who truly appreciates the work involved in doing it and will pay what I`d think I should really charge for the hours I`ve put in . So when I saw you showing this video I thought "what is Brenda doing" ?. Anyway I take your points, and I of course realise anyone can buy, and do what they want. It's just me, I`m old school way of thinking. I just prefer things done custom-made by hand , rather than a machine do it for me like people who use Photo-Shop on their Photographs. The satisfaction I get doing pyrography by hand can never be achieved by a Machine doing it for me . I`m still trying to buck up the courage to attempt your Bobcat, but the Fur and Whiskas techniques needed , in it, put the fear of God in me , because I hate failure , and I know " I could possibly fail " trying that particular subject. Is there any way I can show you an example of my latest workI have done with the help of your tuitions, that I can send to you ?

I understand. I'm rather old-school myself. There is an artist who produced a piece of pyrography that I was rather enamored of....until I discovered that most of the realism came from paint instead of pyrography. I felt that was cheating. Not everyone would agree, and that's okay. If everyone felt the same way about all things, the world would be a pretty boring place. I would love to look at your artwork. That said, please don't ask for help. I only state this because I've had a number of cases where someone wanted me to see their artwork, but what they really wanted was help finishing their artwork. Send your photo(s) to: PyrographyContest@gmail.com As for the bobcat, until you try you don't know what you're capable of doing. It's when we push ourselves out of our comfort level, and try new things that we tend to learn the most from!

@@PyrographyMadeEasy thanks for listening Brenda . No, I`m not asking for help ,everything I do I finish it. (Well in my estimation there finished anyway as I find sometimes you can over do something and wreck it). I`ve always done sketching from an early age and when I saw your videos I decided to give Pyrography a go. I got into it pretty quickly but I know there is still a lot for me to develop and work at . I`ll send my latest piece to you, and it took quite a few hours to do (I do my work a bit at a time until I get tired, then I know it is time to stop, because if I get tired I make mistakes)I have decided to keep this myself, because I`m so proud of it.👍🏻

Companies must love the reviews you do when they reach out to you! Very thorough, no stone left unturned! Great job as usual!

Hi Cheryl, thank you. I do try to put thought and effort into my review. Either they love me or my name is on a list. I get offers for some of the strangest things that have absolutely nothing to do with my channel. For example, a gaming computer, drones, stylus pens, candles.... I turn down 90% of the offers I get. Thanks again for the lovely comment. Have a great week!

Hi Jay, thank you for watching and leaving a comment. I do try my best to be thorough. Unfortunately, my current set up prevented me from trying out more mediums. The list of mediums the laser can engrave is rather impressive. Have a great week!

Glad you shared this information. This is not for me. However, you're so thorough with your exclamation. I'm sure this will help so many others.👍

Hi Babyjohn, thanks. A laser is definitely not for everyone. It's very interesting some of the things people do with them. Have a great week!

I superb tutorial, Brenda. I would not like the lack of originality of using their designs. I like the way you could do a laser copy of your own original work.

Hi Ryn! I agree. I much prefer to use my own work to create engravings of. I don't know about you, but I get tired of the mass quantity of YT channels that take snippets of other people's work and post it on their own channel. They don't create anything themselves. Lazy and parasitic

Buen día Brenda....un gusto saludarte.... considero que es más valioso el arte del pirograbado sin la tecnología láser
@PyrographyMadeEasy Жыл бұрын
Estoy de acuerdo. Creo que el láser podría usarse para crear reproducciones de su arte y venderlas más baratas que el original. Sencillo para vender impresiones de cuadros.
