What do people think about Shankland in Scotland. An amazing finisher in my view which admittedly is very limited based on one KZbin video. Would have been interesting see him play for Scotland in euros but Steve Clarke didn't give him a sniff.

Trent needs to stay at RB but obviously needs a Gini type player or a forward who will actually track back to help him. It's so obvious that's the issue. As a match goer the number of times Trent would be exposed only for Gini or Hendo to save his arse was a frequent occurrence. We miss Mane's workrate as well, even he would run over to help out.

Just play Trent at right back and put Kyle Walker on the left simple as that be brave because Trent is a generational talent that should be on the pitch.

That's not the point, all agree here and elsewhere that he is shit at being a midfielder. The point is that Southgate is deliberately setting things up not to win in a convincing and attacking way and/or to engender support from England supporters. But to deflect expected criticism and broadsides from fans and English media to Trent by putting him at the centre of everything in a strategy that was bound to fail. The Kalvin Phillips remark as well as only replacing him for the starting lineup against Slovenia further prove this. And again, foreign fans like yourself should really go and follow another football club, if you hate this one's local fans so much, which you seem to be since you used a Hillsborough reference towards the fellas in the video. It's beyond a joke, only this club in world football has such a problem with their foreign fans.😂😂😂😂😂

I love Nunez but It’s those huge games where he needs to finish his chances. The easier games on paper we’ll create plenty of chances with less pressure on him but the big games the conversion rate needs to improve. Even his first touch or decision making at times needs to be even slicker in those tight games, that’s where massive frustration kicks in, have to be on it playing for this club. We needed him at the end of last season but I guess that was the same for all the forwards but he’s our no.9, Salah won’t always get us out of jail and unfortunately Jota is injury prone and Diaz is similar where he isn’t the biggest goal threat so we need Darwin to kick on, I believe he can.

It's impossible to have a serious conversation about Trent on this channel or Redmen - a player is never judged by their YT highlights reel. He's so astonishingly sloppy on the ball & overrated.

I really wanted Trent to shine in midfield for England, but I watch him play the role in England and I see him get in Rice's way, and look nonchalant and lost at times while still putting up the best passing/assist/chances created numbers for England in the time he's played (a real brain twister). While the truth is that Trent's influence is limited because Kane doesn't/can't make the runs and Saka/Foden seem content coming inside rather than stretching the pitch at times. But looking at LFC, I wonder if Arne Slot would prefer playing TAA at RB or just adapting him to a midfield role. I wonder if TAA himself would want to change his role in the team (i.e. RB to DM) and if that would be part of his discussion with Arne Slot as a prerequisite for extending his contract with the club. IMO, this could be a watershed moment for Trent as potentially career enhancing decisions need to be made.

We all love trent, but in modern football hes a liability he would suit a more advanced roke on tge right simular to an old rm in a 442 but every way you look at it hes better off at a real Madrid where he doesnt have to defend and he has all day on the ball because hes very limited off the ball hes better iff being sold in my opinion ynwa

I can’t fathom anyone saying Yoro when it’s common knowledge Madrid want him, we won’t be getting anywhere near him, let it go. Using Bellingham and Tchouameni as examples of players we were in for with Madrid was also ridiculous. We lost out on both. If Madrid want someone, he’s going there, it’s that straightforward

Mo came back and we stopped scoring. I love what Mo has done for us, and respect him, but I can’t fathom why we haven’t sold him for a big number and upgraded the squad? Klopp should have benched Mo earlier, but of course he didn’t and rode our season into the ground.

Nunez - poor touch, ponderous decision making and misses too many chances. Probably as a result of the first two. In Uruguay's game against Panama scored one but missed several chances. Nunez is an embodiment of why Liverpool are not in the same class as Real Marid. If Nunez had moved to Madrid two years ago and played as poorly for RM as he did for Liverpool after two seasons he'd be out of Madrid. They don't persist with someone who's not up to the mark. Cut your loses and move on with someone else. Instead here the hope is with a new manager he might have a second chance. Face it, he's just not up to the PL at Liverpool.

I don’t know if it’s local-based opinions from people in the city or not, but I just don’t understand the amount of hate TAW contributors get. This is the most sensible, mature, and comprehensive discussions on our team out there. Yes, the balance of opinions is slanted towards positivity and patience with players and managers, but I see that as further evidence of why TAW embodies the LFC fan ethos of backing your team, maybe to a fault, but definitely not being a buncha petulant twats like Utd, City, RM, and Chelsea supporters.

I think we all know deep down the Nunez hasn't the brain to succeed for Liverpool, if Klopp couldn't get some consistency and intelligent play to go with his raw pace/power then I doubt anyone can. He'll get a few here and there but won't be anywhere near consistent enough for a title challenging team. Unfortunately, there seems to be a dearth of talent for strikers so we're probably lumbered with him. He'll be sold at a loss eventually, hopefully West Ham or some such will bite and pay a good price.

Been saying this all over the place, because it's amazing how many of the prominent Liverpool fan channels states there's no available DM's out there so: Exequiel Palacios (Leverkusen), Anton Stach (Hoffenheim), Morten Frendrup (Genoa), Ederson (Atalanta), Johnny (Real Betis), Floretino Luis (Benfica), Alan Varela (Porto), Weiffer (Feyernoord), Nico Gonzalez (Porto), Youssouf Fofana (Monaco), Joey Veerman (PSV), Jerdy Schouten (PSV)... Just a few CM/CDM's out there across Europe that has had a good/great season this season gone. "If there is a Rodri out there of course you go and buy him if you can!", well Rodri wasn't the Rodri we now see playing for City when he first arrived, Fabinho wasn't the Fabinho we loved from the first minute he walked thru the door. More often than not, you need to get the next big thing before they're the finished article. I really struggle too get why that seem to be so hard acknowlegde amongst the fan base?! Also, I'm getting a bit tired of this "make do attitude" that seems too be semented around within our fanbase. "we already got such a great squad, not sure we need to do that much in the market", or along those lines. Ok, that's fine, but then that needs to be combined with a realistic view on what we actually can achieve. "We're sound, we don't need much more, we don't spend that much money, we'll have too make do with what we got", but the next minute "We have to go for absolutely everything this season". What is it, it's not realistic spending less than clubs who normally ends up around mid table most season (over the last 5-10 years), and still expect we're going to "over achieve" constantly. At some point one of two things need to be the case, either we compete on all levels and behave like other big clubs. Buy the players we need, in the positions they're needed. Or if we keep limping on with players that's either injury prone and out half the season every season, or players that's never been good enough. We have too concede we'll be up and down, and not a consistent challenger in the long term. Just my opinion.

He can only be afforded one more season.. he has to work under slot and if not I'd let him go. The same goes for Diaz imo, he works hard but there is not enough end product and imo he cuts into midfield way too much, cross the dam ball first time ffs. It's down to Darwin to get on the end of it. If you don't get crosses in Darwin or any striker will notice meaning they will not make the runs

Listen. The simple fact is his finishing isn't good enough in a red shirt. Last season he had the worst big chance conversion of ANY forward in ALL OF EUROPE. That is shocking and has nothing to do with where he plays, who plays with him or tactics.

What it comes down to is that Nunez bearing down on goal doesn't inspire anyone with confidence and that's the concern. As an Origi replacement, he's obviously a step up but he's nowhere near what we need as the main guy. Isak would be devastating in our team

I was done with Darwin after he got sent off at home to Palace, yes that's right, his 2nd game for us. Too hot headed and as mentioned here, too emotional. You'll get really high highs, Newcastle/Forest, but really low lows. He'll always be divisive player, but for the money we paid he needs to deliver way more and I don't think he's capable. He won't be sold though coz we'll want our money back and no one is paying £60m+ for him.
