By the way, a record doctor inexpensive vacuum dries it completely in less than 30 seconds and you can start playing it enough to wait an hour for something to dry and that’s exactly I go from the ultrasonic and then I take all the water off. The machine, pulls it down and dries it at the same time and I’m playing it quick quick quick another timesaver.

Definitely no release agent involved in pressing records. At least not at the plant I work at. Stampers are made with metals and they don’t bond with the pvc. The records are also hot coming off the press so they are easy to remove.

Good video, but no rinse? How do you go about cleaning the unit itself? I also use a separate thermometer as I've found the one on the Vevor itself to be unreliable... the water in mine will be 3 or 4 degrees warmer than what is indicated. Don't want to warp any records!
@primeanalogrecords3 ай бұрын
I make a pile and when I get to 7-8 I do one batch and then done! Cavitation crates heat and even when you set the temp it will rise some beyond the internal heater for sure! And no, I do not rinse! That’s what the photo flow is for! It sheets water off the record just like it does on photographic film which it was intended for! If you skip that step of putting Photo flow in the water, you would probably need to rinse! Otherwise, it’s pointless! To rinse the unit, I drain it, wipe it out with glass cleaner, rinse that out with water, and then refill the entire tank with the cleaning solution that I have outlined! Thanks for commenting and watching! I hope it helped

I clean the tank with glass cleaner after I empty it! Then close the petcock and fill with tap water to rinse! Open the valve and dump that water! Close the valve and remix the original mixture of distilled water, 2 squirts of 91% alcohol and two capfuls of Kodak Photo-Flo!

Quick question...
@amirshabazz13932 ай бұрын
Quick question...on the temperature, should the light be on when doing a load of records or does it go off after reaching the desired temp???
@primeanalogrecords2 ай бұрын
@@amirshabazz1393 when I turn on the unit on the back and then push the on button on the front and that preheats the water! Once it gets to temperature, I believe the light goes off, but I’m not sure! I just stick my finger in and can feel a little bit of warmth and then I just start cleaning Records! The cavitation from the unit itself creates and heats the water as well, so unless you’re doing a large batch, it should be sufficient! Keep a check on the water temperature because it can get hot! Hope that helps

The Passport cds are collectors items pricewise. Their lps have a bit better sound and are cheaper. They have a pretty long discography. All their albums I heard were good; most think Cross Collateral & Infinity Machine are 2 of their best. As much as I'm into Jazz Fusion there are a few classic albums I haven't heard yet. Oh Yeah by Jan Hammer. Andy Edwards on here has it ranked as the #1 Fusion album of all time. The other one is Birds of Fire by The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Their Emerald Forest is supposed to be real good too. Some rank Miles Davis A Tribute To Jack Johnson as one of the top few Fusion albums ever. John Mclaughlin plays electric guitar almost nonstop throughout the whole album, while Miles often takes a breather. The British Fusion scene was very good. So much good music comes from there. Ever hear of Tribal Tech, Colosseum, Isotope, Soft Machine, Brand X, Gong? Or Cox Orange, Kitty Hawk, Rastus, The Yellowjackets, Full Moon, Mike Manieri, David Sancious, Marilyn Scott, Angela Bofill, Steps Ahead, Hadfield Of The North, Keiko Matsui, Richard Tee, Tom Browne, Larry Coryell & The Eleventh House.

I prefer Jazz Fusion/Smooth Jazz probably but like both. Fusion is more distinctive and creative. It's' in as high a class as any music including older Jazz. When you think of Fusion/Smooth Jazz Weather Report, Return To Forever & Mahavishnu Orch. are the ones that immediately come up in peoples minds. Pat Metheny has gotten too new age for me, but liked his earlier stuff like Offramp & American Garage. Loved the title track to New Chataqua, but unfortunately the rest of it was subpar. I have an extensive collection of Smooth Jazz Guitarist albums. Elegant Gypsy by Al Dimeola is the best selling Jazz Fusion guitar album of all time, even selling better than the nore mainstream George Benson. Al's early albums like Land Of The Midnight Sun & Casino were really great too. Guitar God John Mclaughlin did some really good straigh Fusion stuff before he got into the sitar baaed music he migrated to. Although some of that is good too like his Shakti lp. Rio by Lee Ritenour was always a favorite for that style of Latin guitar albums. Torcuato Mariano did a similar style album called Last Look that is an even better album, believe it or not. For a more traditional smooth jazz album try Vineland Dreams by Steve Laury. For sax based smooth jazz try Boulevard At Midnight (or something similar) by Kilauea. Or if you like Weather Report try some albums by the group Passport. A keyboard classic is Les McCann's album called Layers. Don't forget to try Lonnie Liston Smith. He has a best of album. Hubert Laws (flute) & Ronnie Laws (sax) made some great albums both as brothers and seperately.
@primeanalogrecords3 ай бұрын
Ronnie Laws amazing! Same with Al Deiola and I got to meet him in Miami at a place that I shop for Guitars called Walt Grace! He was super cool! I’ve never heard of the group passport but I’ll definitely check it out! This is why I love putting up not so run-of-the-millbecause I find artist, I’ve never heard of before! This is exactly why I’m doing this is because I guess maybe selfishly I’m looking for more friends into my circle and also information into my circle! Thanks for the heads up!

Hey Matt 👋. FIFO🎉. Ole Mazzy ruffling feathers 😊. So many you pulled that I have in my collection! We have identical likes with this Jazz genre. I do have some Sonny Rollins and Miles but the bulk of my JAZZ 😊 is smooth. That's what I was attracted to growing up. The older Jazz may as well be classical to me. The musicians are very talented but just not my thing. Will this change? Who knows. Mazzy can be a polarizing person but he's adored by many. There's room for all of us 😊. Great video Bud 🍻.
