Hey Matt, For some reason this video popped up when I opened KZbin, What a nice surprise as I too am A Vintage Stereo gear lover, Although this is a year old, better late than never! I Will Check out your other Videos as well, that Isolation method for your other TT is crude, but effective, great idea, I was able to make some of my own use using a 3D printer & 'O' Rings, & they look good & work great, but the innertube is perfect for heavier objects I bet. I found a Technics SL1600 from original owner that he had under his bed for 40 years, works perfect. I See you are a Klipsch guy, I have the Forte II & KG 4's all restored with Crittes Cross overs. Love them! Keep up the good work. & that poster that did not like your hat. I bet he really hates it now! LOL! MAGA!

I totally agree with your sleeve choice, after seeing the original owner on 33RPM and trying them, I will now only buy from Audio Storage Solutions. Yes, for the most part Amazon has gotten much better shipping records in correct safe, secure packaging. That said, I just got the Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie album and they had it in a big box shipped with freaking paper plates bouncing around. I think because it was a box set it didn't fit in standard record shipping box but I was concerned. Fortunately, no dings...minor miracle!

@@primeanalogrecords awesome, thank you for answering my question and for this great tip!
@richcooper68805 ай бұрын
Nice video. A little food for thought on "self leveling" (imho). The tube creates a space equidistant between the cabinet and the tile. If the cabinet is not level, the tile will not be level either. You said, "it is self leveling, SORT OF", which is synonymous with "it will not really be completely level if the cabinet is not completely level." I know this may sound like nit picking, but turntables are a precision tool and should be set up completely level. I saw that you mentioned in the comments that you did use a level on your turntable. Everyone who uses this clever hack must do the same or risk creating a whole new problem while trying to fix another. That said, as you say, a nice inexpensive hack. Cheers.
@primeanalogrecords5 ай бұрын
@@richcooper6880 thanks for your comment and knowledge! Absolutely the cabinet has to be leveled to start with! Too often floors or flooring is not level so when you put even a quality piece of furniture there it won’t be level!! And when you place your turntable on that, it puts a lot more stress on your cartridge most importantly onthe cantilever! Not to mention what it does to the sound of your records! I think this is a really important comment and I think I’m going to pin it to the top!

@primeanalogrecords6 ай бұрын
What I generally do to speed up the heating of the water is turn on the cavitation for one full cycle! It gets it right up to temperature real quick! You definitely need to keep track of the solution temperature, but it does a pretty good job itself! If you’re doing a cycle or two you will be fine! Glad you got on board!! Thanks for the support

By the way, a record doctor inexpensive vacuum dries it completely in less than 30 seconds and you can start playing it enough to wait an hour for something to dry and that’s exactly I go from the ultrasonic and then I take all the water off. The machine, pulls it down and dries it at the same time and I’m playing it quick quick quick another timesaver.

Okay? & a vacuum system doesn’t really do much. If you have enough records to clean 8 at a time, you have plenty to listen to while a batch dries
