Great review Matt. My copy of Balance has been replaced and all is great with my set now too. ♥️ I love the background of your channel. Take care.

Hey Matt. FIFO🎉. Glad this box set checked all the right boxes. I have all the vinyl except for Carnal which is very hard to get. I have several box sets that after the inner sleeves are added it is a tight fit. Good stuff 👍 buddy. Happy listening 🎶. Greg

Thanks Greg! Glad you understood the gist of the video! Sometimes I seem ramble! Did you notice the camera following me? Still working out the bugs but this addition to the studio is cool!

@@primeanalogrecords I remember seeing a video with a tabletop device that holds the camera or phone and will rotate to follow you from side to side by focusing on your face..is that what you are trying out?

Hey there, great review. Confirming you didn't hear any issues on 316 ? I've been through 3 copies so far and they all are identical, it sounds like one of the speakers is blown out. Really wild sounding. I might go for copy number 4 from where you purchased yours. Thanks again!

I think the distortion you hear is on the tapes/meant to be! It’s all the way through the whole song! I don’t have another to compare! I just assumed it was another thing Eddie was experimenting with! If it had vocals on that track it would be easy to distinguish!

It's almost like the vinyl for this song was remastered too hot (if that is even possible). Here's an example to compare to. The CD/Digital copy is crisp on both channels. With headphones the distortion on one channel is really obvious. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJyXYZSdmd2joZofeature=shared @@primeanalogrecords

@@Stratman5150 I totally hear what you’re hearing! I actually went on the Spotify to see if it sounded correct and it does! I am a cassette recorder still and yes, it does sound like it’s levels are too high! That edge of distortion certainly is not supposed to be there like I commented earlier! That’s really unfortunate and I can’t believe that Bernie didn’t catch that! But if it’s on one, I believe it’s probably on all of them! When I did my review, I listen to almost every single track critically, but at this one must have missed my playlist! It’s truly a shame as this is one of those beautiful songs that shouldn’t be missed! But other than that that set to me was pretty comprehensive and well done! Well, once again, they let us down!

I think if you listen really closely there is some of the distortion going on during Top of The World too. It's harder to hear but I I can hear it at times, it just sounds too hot/brittle. I'm one of those weirdo EVH fans and a musician too so I probably listen a little bit too critically. But man, that on 316 jumped right out at me. I exchanged it for a 2nd one and got the same thing. That's when I started noticing others making mention on You Tube and various chats. It's really unfortunate and pretty amazing to me that this wasn't caught. I have emailed Rhino and they basically just suggested to keep returning it. That's really unfortunate in my opinion, especially for the smaller shops having to deal with a defective product. Thanks for your response and feedback today. I enjoyed the discussion and thanks again for the cool review! @@primeanalogrecords

FWIW.. I worked with Warner Brothers and was told this today "Rhino checked Van Halen THE COLLECTION II (5LP) copies I ordered in & advised the following, regarding the For Unlawful Carnage LP: • the original production on this LP was compressed & distorted by design • any audio anomalies are inherent to the original production & not a result of the reissue pressing I've since asked if that is the case, why is there no distortion on the CD or streaming of 316? @@primeanalogrecords
