I'm a guy who is getting older and my problem is finding buyers for the four Tri-Five Chevys that I own. I live in Hollywood Florida and I have the cars listed on craigslist under Auto parts for sell. I don't get a single call. Three of the cars run and drive. My daily driver is a four door 57 wagon. I have a 55 and 57 two door HT and a 57 four door HT. When I say they run and drive I mean cross country. The prices I have the cars listed for is less than you can buy a twenty five year old mini van or SUV for. No one in South Florida knows how to do anything. I had never met a male driver who did not know how to drive a manual transmission before I moved back here. And working on a car is out of the question. At least when I move away I will be able to drive the cars away.

@stacysanders-w3e Yeah I understand. Craigslist don't get many people on the site anymore. Seems like it will have to be almost free to get any interest. I would say ebay or marketplace will be a better sales platform. I've seen it alot of here in Ohio, no many young kids can drive a stickshift.

The only oil bath air cleaner I ever saw in person was a 352 Ford in a 1965 pickup unless you want to count a 1957 420 John Deere but I don't think that counts

Yes it takes a flat metal and in the center there is a bolt so each end of trim fits there.

MADMOOKS is gone (Mike passed away earlier in 2024). Shortly before his passing I had made contact with him, sent out my liftgate frame and prepaid for the straightening. It took months but I did finally get my (bent) liftgate back along with a refund of my money from whatever friend/family members were trying to settle his estate.

Another great update Don! Good to see the '55 will be getting some attention and repairs. It's always fun to drive them and help to keep you motivated! It's really nice of you to give the shout out to Randy! I kept a lot of my early memorabilia too, it's all stuff that kept us connected to the hobby! Keep up the great work Don!

Great video and update Don! I like to use the old school tools too! By the time you drag out the air tools and get everything set up, you can have them done without even having to crawl out from under the car! I do have a drill with a small wire wheel that I use to clean the rusty exposed threads and then pre soak them with Kroil penetrating oil. It has worked well for me and gets stuff off pretty quick! Funny, but I had a big spaghetti meal and did some work afterwards today and I know how that feels 😂😂😂 The shocks and shock plates came out nice and look great! I'm sure you'll feel the difference in the ride! I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving and a great week! Take care Don!

Rachet tightening is the way to go. Impact rachet (or Hammering) is scary. Young mechanics impact is all they know. Speed = more money in the pocket, but over tightening, non-uniform alignment threads (stripped) and misalignment of bolts to the brackets can go unnoticed. But, a mechanic feels safe when another mechanic gets paid to re-do their work.

Hey Bud looks like you got a good workout for sure 👍 Yeah Don when I in 4x4 with lifted up, I would get a piece of black hose that was a little tight and put a little grease on the left over thread's and screw the hose on up tight and cut it off, saved the threads for next time, just a idea. Well Don Hope you and family a great Thanksgiving ✌️
