Enjoyable video, Don. That locking cross member is wild. Never seen anything like it and I've had 55's since 1964.

Don I love your channel.I can relate to how you feel. I'll be 49 this February and I have a few projects too and I am now focused on the ones that really matter and will keep them until I am gone. It sure is tough to let anything go that is for sure. You have a great lineup and you should be very proud of them. Have a good one Don.

Great video Don. I really like this car and it sounds like a beast. It would be tough to let any of those cars go, but I definitely understand when you want to add to the collection. It’s hard to leave them set outside during winter months. Have a great holiday weekend my friend. Talk to you soon. 👍😎✌️
@donshotrodgarage17175 ай бұрын
Hey Kevin! Yeah that is the real issue. Letting them set outside in the elements. Beyond that realizing that I would rather spend my time on the other ones. Later Buddy 👍

Excellent video Big Don, what’s better than a SBC with a solid cam, yep a Big Block, I would have put a solid lifter 350 in but I was fine with the flat tappet I got, funny on my video I made the same comment as you on the fam through the phone camera, I saw in my comments you watched the motor video, I will get over and answer the comments tonight, I drove back from Sunland today, I really like the way you adjusted the carb by pulling to vacuum down as low as possible, again great video buddy talk to you later tonight on mine 😀😀

Informative video & I agree with the straight axle going on the Nomad. Don I drove my 55 with no shocks in the front for years with station wagon springs and the ride was terrible and everytime you hit a bump it was bang but I was a kid it was cool not anymore,HA!.....I have front shocks now and the same springs the car rides Okay.... later

Hey Glenn! Yeah shocks sure do make a big difference. Some of the roads around here and like driving down railroad tracks but not being on the rails. Later Buddy

Wow that moisture really is bad in your area! Cool to learn more about the big blocks. Take care man.
@donshotrodgarage17175 ай бұрын
Yeah man the old Big Blocks and super cool. Around here the summers are decent. But the winter and spring days have alot of moisture. We have alot of foggy days where you can literally see rain in the air. I believe them are the days that do the most damage. Just have to keep everything inside a garage and your fine. Later Buddy 👍

FWIW, I have a dropped straight axle and de-arched springs on my old truck. I added a lot of caster to it and that helps quite a bit. I probably didn't need 4 degrees though. I do still need to modify the steering arm to be parallel with the tie rod, but the caster helps plant it. I don't want a modern front suspension but I am planning to get QA1 to make me some custom front shocks so I can control the compression and rebound.

Hey BW! I believe it's called a Transverse leaf spring setup. It's a ruff riding car around here. Should be left to the smooth race track I guess. Get you a vacuum Guage and slowly set the air%fuel mixture. Built engines like to be a little rich anyways. Have a good one Buddy 👍
