They do smell if they die in the walls. The smell lasts for about a week.

Apprentices start off and make in ca at a utility I was at 55 and each step went up hot step apprentices were making 75$ an hour some apprentices were making 200k+ . We’re talking apprentices however lineman making more than that different states make less due to cola or cost of living but depends on state great career to get in to it’s tough competitive but overall worth it.

48 an hour after 15 years experience and with 2 months off seems impossible to clear 210k unless once again working damn near 80 hours per week.
@kalebstout767312 күн бұрын
Even at 64 dollars per hour you would have to be putting in 40 hours of overtime on top of your already 40 hour work week and keep that consistency for 50 out of the 52 weeks in a year... Might just be me but doesn't seem like that good of pay when you break it down. There are 8,400 hours in a 50 weeks and ideally 2,800 of them should be spent resting at 8 hours a day on average. Now add your average work hours over a given year; 40 hours for would be 2,000 hours plus the additional 30-40 hours of overtime let's just say a total of 4,000 hours. so take the total hours 8,400 - 2,800 - 4,000 = 1,600 hours left, now break that down to hours left per week and your left 32 hours per week only 4.5 hours left in the day to do things like; eat, cook, clean, shower, do laundry, go shopping, commute anywhere, spend any time with anyone doing anything. Oh forgot to mention this is of course based on 50 out of 52 weeks in the year so on the bright side you would have two weeks of "freedom" to really spend your time how you want. Please correct me if I missed something but as far as I can see this does not sound like living for me. Sounds like a short path that would lead to a long road of loneliness, depression, bad health and most likely a divorce if not multiple. Now all this said, 200k looks very doable while still having a life and maintaining healthy relationships.

I've worked in this career for 30 years. We used to work for pennies. Now 300k is possible. 200k is easy. As far as the video.....open it, ground it, and put it back in the air. 30 minutes without broken poles.

We had a 65 year old apprentice that went all the way to journey man, just be ok working in cold & wet weather, hiking up terrain, following rules and plans to a T. Its a very physical job, especially if your working for contractors, if you get into a utility power co, things will get a little easier with time. Also, strap on the working hours, 16's are extremely common, especially during bad weather.

@chacehart7286 lol, you sound like my son, the apprentice lineman, but if lineman didn't show me, then my son wouldn't be doing it either. Believe me, people want to make big boy money, but still have a child's attitude... And our country has more of those than real men anymore...

I start a night auditor job soon and I think it's theI've done all these positions and typically the highest paying of these positions is hotel. It should be security but it isn't. Overnight parking attendant was the easiest but being exposed to the elements really sucks winter time.

So we rent our property, and we definitely have at least 4 or more mice based on how much poo their is. We have a live, spring, and poison traps. I immediately caught a mouse within 20 minutes of putting the spring trap down. My question is do I keep putting the spring trap in the same spot or should I move it?

So I started out with the night front desk job at luxury apartment complexes in DC.. for 4 years then moved to pest control job for the next 4-5 living with mom but first blue collar job. Easy work if you can handle repetitive manual labor and not afraid of bugs. got my first serious job certification, learned inspecting and selling, learned the local industry area did lots of side work for cash. Made skilled trade friends and met cool people along the way. paid $1k for building maintenance class at local community college learned tools and basic residential construction.. that to me into helper jobs and eventually garage door repair. Made amazing money tons of side work had to find a good company. That experience got me into home appliance repair got that down even learned how to clean the dryer vents made cool money had tons of side work. I still do all these things as side hustles for cash. Took all of that experience and stumbled into fire alarm industry where I now use every skill I learned from jobs listed above. I’ll probably retire here. That’s my career without a degree

I’ve thought about becoming a Lineman. The out in the storms & cold is one of the things that kept me from wanting to do it. I do heavy commercial/industrial HVAC, so im out in most of the elements but not storms. I know what he is talking about with the long hours & away from the family. On call getting a wake up call a 3 or 4 in the morning. Or working all night/day
