It's funny when young people make such comments. I've been a basketball fan since the 70's, coached youth basketball for years, and today's NBA is the weakest it's been since the 1970's. They're athletic, but that's about it. Weak defense, no teamwork, very little basic basketball fundimentals, an addiction to the lowest percentage shot on the floor (3-pointers), carrying is allowed, flopping, whining over every little injury or slightest bit of contact, etc. The list goes on. Because of all of this, the game is sloppy and boring, leading to lowering game attendance and viewership than it's seen in decades. People just aren't watching games anymore. It's just a fa ct. The 80's/90's was the NBA's Golden Era; the most talent-rich period in the league's history. It's sad to see kids today so impressed by such a poor product as the NBA is today.

His numbers per game is already the best ever. If he played today without the physical play he endured and over came, remember, in just about every statistic broken down to per game, MJ is unmatched. Watch Jordan vs LeBron the best goat comparison. I will preference this. Listen and actually look at the numbers. Don't worry about what jersey LeBron is wearing the most... it's the current one. Never the less, the numbers my friend...they hold the key, and the IMO this video isn't even close to the eye test. I watched every one of MJ's championship runs. Regular season and especially post season. Unmatched!

Your Videos are great Philip! I went to Springs Valley H.S. in French Lick, Indiana where Larry Bird was my P.E. Assistant his Sr. year. It was as if someone waved a magic wand over Larry between his Jr/Sr year. His Jr year, Larry was 6ft 2" avg 15 ppg when Larry walked back on the court his Sr year Larry was 6ft 7", averaged over 30 ppg and over 20 rebound per game. His passing was Deadly! He got his teammates involved, even his full court passes were right on the numbers! I think God wanted Larry to be a basketball player. Here is a short video I produced that includes never before seen footage in H.S. I hope you enjoy it! : kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZeQn42PgrWmnqssi=80Bftm_6PYIXKKzp

So really how much practice and learning to PLAY as a TEAM player did he have ?? you KNOW no one wanted to give up the ball ESPECIALLY in college because they ALL wanted to show skills so they can have a chance to play NBA..

Did you come upon the stories about his "bone spurs"..... He had bone spurs in both feet but on the back of the foot . He had issues the Achilles tendon or heel cord, also known as the calcaneal tendon, is a tendon at the back of the lower leg, and is the thickest in the human body. This tendon connects you heel bone to your calf muscles & other important sH!Te but I digress ; Bird suffered a few spurs in each foot meaning every step hurt beyond some of his other injuries AND he lived w/ these spurs during other injuries making him one Bad Arse'd Mother F#@Ck'er ! I jammed my heal once which is a bruised injury kinda like trying to run barefooted across big rocks w/o shes on except bone spurs are worse, much worse /7 he had them on both heals & multiple spurs on each heal / Achilles tendon or heel cord. I'm not asking you to another video as you've done a lot but you ought to at least check it out to understand just how that injury on both feet at the same time as a back or other..... I hurt just thinking of it !! peace

Sheeeesh, yeah just reading that sounds PAINFUL! I'll do some research to try to see exactly how painful those injuries were! I appreciate you Diggy🙏!
@diggy-d8w5 күн бұрын
Pain is like a, "monster" that you do not think about all that much until you;re older & have your 1st injury that decides it's gonna stay with you..... lol, I've got a couple of thinks I deal with but I'm a pussy, nothing like these pro-athletes & I didn't know about all of his injuries until this week. I only knew he played harder than whoever was on scedule against Boston. I remember seeing Larry laying down on the sideline but I didn't really know & no one else did this so I thought it was part of his benefits package... lol, I didn't know but after what I have seen, I believe he was up there in the top 5% of TOUGH, leaning upwards to Top 1% but you can't measure any of these things. Take a look at those bone spurs; They form on the bony part of your heel where the Achilles tendon moves up/down allowing you to jump or run. You Achilles Tendon connects everything & a "Spur" forms along the bone but in the path of the tendon & you got it = each time the tendon goes up/down, that spur catches the tendon - excruciating pain & I've never felt that pain. And to play basketball -- No way he could do that ?? I bet he did - tough bastard

Bird got his third straight MVP during the 1985-86 season while playing with an injured back. His pain tolerance was very unusual.
@leahmollytheblindcatnordee35867 күн бұрын
The hand/knuckle shatter required several surgeries, but the finger was never straight after that and he could never fully straighten or bend it. It was also tilted at about a 45 degree angle. And in Nov. of 88. They cut the Achilles tendons and removed bone spurs from both of his feet. But the next season he came back and averaged 24.3Pts, 9.5TRb, 7.5Ast and 1.4 Stl.

Watched nearly every Celtics game in the first half of his career. He did something amazing at least once every night. Some games he didn't have his shot going but was still grinding and would end up with 18 rebounds and 12 assists because all he cared about was winning.
