Thanks for these videos. I recently bought a 1984 JD 318. It came with 2 decks, one with a lot of rust holes. I ordered new pulleys and cleaned up the better deck. I made a tool to install the bearings with about $20 of materials from Lowe’s Home Improvement. Used a set of 3/4 inch floor flanges and a 8 inch iron pipe threaded on both ends.

Well, I'm using this video to do my 1996 I bought new and now has, count them, 1764hrs on it and my gear JUST went!! Out of nowhere after cleaning her up!! Thank you for video! I got the service manual, but vids are so much nicer! Got the gasket kit, pushrods, steel geer and pistons/rings. Anything else you'd change while I'm in there with the hours?

My 316 ? also has a turn buckle for the hydro did the 316 and 318 both have this option ? You must make more parting that out.

What are the two hoses that goes into the fuel tank. One is fuel to the pump, is the other a return line or a fuel gauge. I just got a 316 with an onan 218G it only has one line at the tank and the other is pluged. If it has that motor is it a 318 ? Your vid is very good as you explane what your doing and the side info as you go. It's obvious you know what your doing inside and out. I havn't found anybody near me that knows what you do. Thanks for your time I'm subscibed.

I just acquired a 1984 vintage 212 with the Kohler K301 motor. It came with 2 mowing decks the previous owner had. I’m working on getting at least 1 deck working, replacing bearings and pulleys. One deck has some rust holes I’ll need a welding shop to fix if I keep it. I really appreciate your videos! They are tremendously helpful as I figure this thing out!!

What did you have to do to make this work? I have a gx345 and would love to put a 2 stage on it. I have never seen one of the blowers in person so not sure how hard it would be to make work. Thanks.

I'm looking for a complete wiring harness for a John Deere r72. You got one kicking around?
I learned there is so much crud built up on the shafts after years of use. Can't really see it. I run the shafts on a wire wheel of the grinder to remove that crud. Then the shafts will slide in fairly easy. Wire wheel should not damage those shafts they are hard metal.

@smallenginegarage my crappy plastic cam just went on me, what part number is this and where can I order it? Thanks brother.

You need to take the engine apart first to see what other damage there is. It most likely took out the governor, water pump gear and oil pump gear. I've also seen pushrods bent. I would look online for parts of go to your dealer.

Do you have "good" repair videos? Where you actually show the removal process of EVERYTHING bolt by bolt removal and replacement? Nost videis on youtube they talk it to drath and don't know how to put the camera on the job, no lights in dark places and when they run into a toygh.job if actually doing something, they show nothing and leave the viewer wondering HOW THEY DID IT!!! IF you want viewers, make GOOD VIDEOS, And remember, you are not acting in a movie, we don't need to hear you doing thr weather, the news the movies or discussing how you had to go to lunch or why your shirt got dirty or torn or how much beer you have to drink to work on a miwer! Just cut the camera off whenbyou have nothing to say and turn it back on when you are telling sonething we NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YHE JOB!! KZbin MECHANICS ARE JUST GETTING STUPID, NOT DOING THE JOB TO.HELP OTHERS KNOW HOW! which is the real point! Good luck!

i got 345 kawasaki. it has been standing for months. now can't start it. It idle, and only starts when i pour petrol into air intake. I removed the fuel pump, there was a bit of orangy color of water, cleaned it, flushed with petrol, installed back but still no change. Could it be carburetor? should i replace the fuel pump to new one? pls help :(
