I have finished staining my dining table with GF java gel and waited 3 days before spraying the shellac you recommended. I seem to have some hazy white spots on the dried table. Is it important to remove these spots before I apply GF high performance top coat? share.icloud.com/photos/0e7_59bMP-64HFFCdiF5c29JA

I had that frustrating "not sufficient" water to wash. For Front Loads, 5mins after wash cycle starts, slowly pour in extra water through the detergent dispenser.

LMAO😂😂😂😂😂😂 I don't feel so bad. I recently had my washing machine repaired and it came back with a new head and barely gets the clothes wet so now I dragged the garden hose in and filled it halfway with water before I start it. Same with rinse cycle.

From your future : manufacturers had to add a "deep wash" cycle, which uses more water, to get clothes clean. Maybe.

I tried this water hack and it works here too. I’ve had nothing but skin problems and I was suspicious it’s the machine and the new way to do laundry. I don’t know if it’s the entire story but I’m definitely using your tip to get cleaner clothes. Thank you!!

I pour 5 gallons of water into every load to wet the clothes. Then, I add 3 gallons of water after the machine stops "filling" with water. "HE" washers are a joke.

How can you add water AFTER the machine has started. Just add more water. Is there a way to do that from the machine?

My laundry sink is right next to my washer. I just pull the faucet over to the washer and add enough water to cover 2 inches above the clothes level. But, I have to return and do it again for the rinse cycle. It sure makes the clothes a lot cleaner.

It doesn’t give enough water to really wet clothes, (even small loads, no I’m not overloading) and it really mangles your clothes. I’ve lost more buttons than I care to sew on! Clothes don’t seem to rinse well. Totally dissatisfied customer!

This is fine for smooth walls but isn't enough for textured, unfortunately, where the wall is literally too physically rough for the tape to make a full seal.

I Have a machine just like this but its a kenmore 100 series he top loader. this hack is helpful, however I did find another way on my washer to add more water to it . with mines if you open it and then close the lid it adds a little water , so what i did is i located the lid switch and keep pressing / tripping it so its continually adding water into the washer basket and i can fill it all the way up with water so all of my laundry is fully submersed in water and detergent and comes out smelling clean and fresh. Next washer i buy im just going to locate my nearest used appliance store and pickup and older 90s or 80s washer and call it a day lol

I might also add that for those of you looking for a way to lower your monthly cost for water, you can use your washing machine water on your plants (not veggies) and it works well on grass too including nut and citrus trees. I found out after changing clorox bleach for vinegar that the plants actually really like it! I was afraid I would find everything hung over and dead but it was just the opposite, give it a try!

I read a lot of the comments and I wanted to cry because my older sister and I have been going through this for years with our "new" washer. There were literally times we washed sheets and they did come out with areas that were dry, literally dry, never got wet after going through the entire cycle! We had bought a new Kenmore from Sears because our mother always swore by them, but this has been nothing but complete disappointment!!! We even had to have the washer replaced with another "new" Kenmore because the memory chip in the first one went crazy!! We literally cried over the aggravation these washing machines have caused and the lack of cleanliness we are all living with. We have kept buckets that we can fill in the kitchen and walk them into the laundry room to add water to the machine once it has begun filling. I even talked to my sister about installing a "pot filler" which is another spigot with a long arm, that we could use to fill the washer up with enough water to actually wash the clothes verses semi wetting them! I am going to try your approach to wetting everything first, I had also thought about just setting a filled container into the machine as it fills and see if that works. That however requires you to stand there and watch it and stop it, to get your container out prior to the cycle beginning. I am just so thankful to know we are not crazy!! These washing machines are horrible!! We should all send letters to the President if nothing else and let him know of our complaints on this. You can contact him or his office on the internet, I have done it several times!

Seven years after that post the low water problem still exists. My faithful Amana washer just died and I had to buy a new machine. I've had it half a day and hate the thing already. The barrel filled partially, not even covering the load. The agitator barely moves the blanket I wanted washed. You can't prefill the barrel because the lid locks. Why do I need a locking lid? I don't! I can't add bleach to the water because the water only runs when the infernal lid is locked. Too many cons to this stupid "smart" machine. I wish I'd have spent my money fixing my old faithful.

Y'all americans are so obsessed with excessive water use... deep-wash, extra-water, deep-rinse, big-gulp... oh wait that's for soda, not water 😂 You do realize that, past a certain point, more water only dilutes detergent and prevents clothes from rubbing against each other, right? Like, if your hands were greasy, would you put some soap and *a little* water, rub them and then rinse... or would you put a couple squirts of soap in a bathtub full of water and then flail them around in the water (but never substantially rub them together)? TOO MUCH WATER HURTS WASH PERFORMANCE. The problem is that top loaders are, by design, terrible at moving things around unless the clothes are floating in 70 gallons of water. The solution of course, is to tumble the clothes in a front load washer - which will, every time, outperform a top loader for cleaning *and* spin the clothes considerably better, saving thousands in electricity over the life of the machine. Of course, you're advised to leave the door ajar when not in use, and not use a half gallon of detergent and another half gallon of laundry grease.. err i mean softener... which will absolutely prevent mold and mildew, but most americans are SO averse to being told what to do that they'd rather have a worse performing, smaller capacity top loader with serious design flaws because it makes them feel like they have freedom if they can waste energy doing a worse job. 😂

I do this same thing with extra water. I'm always wondering how does the washer know if I have a full load of really lightweight clothing that weighs less than a small load of towels, jeans or other heavier weight items? It doesn't, so I figured I'd add my own weight with the water. I do try to reserve a heavyweight item to put in with the lighter weight things, but that doesn't always work out.

I thank you so much for making this video! I added a large jug of fresh water slowly making sure it was absorbed by the clothes. It WORKED!!!!!!! I recently bought a GE washer dryer combo, and it was filling only half way for whatever load I put in. This had the clothes actually swimming in the tub! I am so happy! Thank you!

I other words, the machine is designed for you to use preSoak feature prior to selecting the wash cycle. Your clothes will come out much cleaner this way. The manual says nothing about this. But, obviously that is the way the machine is designed.

Get a front loader and use it correctly so you don't get mold. There is a reason government mandates low water usage in appliances and it's not because they're being difficult. I think manufacturers should be mandated to brick any appliance which has water manually added to it. Too many areas of the country are affected by drought and issues regarding potable water for people to have such a nonchalant attitude towards water usage.

I use Howard’s products a lot. You didn’t use enough Restor-A-Finish on the top. The ring on the top started to come off when you hit it with the steel wool, but you quit too soon. Too bad you didn’t get to show the Feed-N-Wax as it is a good product and easy to use. I have found a bunch of furniture restorers on KZbin that also use it inside and all around the outside of drawers. I hadn’t thought of that, but plan to do it in the future.
