This kits appealing to me , quick question though. On the mrn replacement intake what happens with the rear swirl flap thing fitted on the oem system , is that just deleted ?

Seems like a good bit of kit. I have a similar one from KS Tools. The biggest advantage for me is that you can even flare it underneath the car!

If it's a 1.6 THP engine, it's already rubbish. Not worth the time and money.

It's a tritec engine, usually quite a tough unit, it's a shame what's happened to it, it's got nice seats, must be a special edition.

You should have jacked it up with 2 plugs out then it would have got all of the water out.

That was a perfectly saveable engine if done right but then again the state of the wiring and split pipes it was obviously owned by someone who hasn't got a clue what an utter bunch of muppets

This mini is the R53 version the R52 is the convertible type, it will be worth saving and changing the engine, as these cars are going up in value as they are collectables.

damage is done its sucked water in moving smashing its valves - these minis have bad air in take location

Got it in 1 sir. The owner cranked the car "until oil came out".

Should have changed the oil and drined the water. Water does not compress like oil and it caused the issue.

I don't understand how you thought that you only needed to remove 1 spark plug?! You wouldnt have killed that engine if you had removed all 4 then turned it over. The rust marks on the 1st plug was nothing to do with the water in the other cylinders.

@@stevenw75 Hi I should have been clearer in the video, all spark plugs were removed prior to cranking. Water only came out of cylinder number 1. Thanks for your comment.

@@stevenw75 Unfortunately my mate cranked it over after exiting “the puddle” I suspect the damage was already done. I hate stuff getting scrapped but you can’t save them all.

Perhaps I should have made it clearer in the video. All 4 spark plugs were removed before cranking. Water only squirted out of number 1. Thanks for your comment.

ive got the wood only version and had it for around 4 years and its been great. only thing is i feel like the air controls a are not super responsive but i cant really compare it to any others as have only owned one wood burner. the handle un does its self and feel cheap its just a handle with a bolt running through. other than those minor gripes its been great. kicks out loads of heat the glass stays clean when burning. great stove.

Where are you guys based? I've just bought a Boxster to do an Audi v6 30v swap but I need to use tiptronic and I might need a gearbox adapter plate machining is this something you can help with amongst other things chargecooler advice etc do you have any links ? Just subbed.

7 spoke alloys belonged to the mk3 escort rs. I dont think they were ever an option on the mk1 xr2!! Mk1 xr2,s came with pepper pot alloys. Back in the day the offer of 7 spoke rs alloys instead of pepper pots never happened??

Pepperpots back on asap, otherwise lovely car. I was once offered a red one (my favourite Mk1 XR2 colour) but it was a ringer and I would not have enjoyed driving it due to the dodginess. This example looks mint and it appears to drive very well based on the clip. I'd love to have had one but I'm glad to say that sense prevailed back then and I will settle for having owned legit old minis and mk2 escorts.

That's a MK2 parcel shelf. Mk1 shelves had cords not rubber and were flat wood not moulded plastic.

A tidy XR2- a few details to tidy up. Exhaust note & tyres suggest tweaked. The pepperpots need to go back on imo. Iconic piece of the XR2 look My Dad had one back in the mid 80’s in Sunburst Red.
