Flood damaged mini… will it RUN!

Should have changed the oil and drined the water. Water does not compress like oil and it caused the issue.

It hydro locked and bent the rods happens almost every time somebody does something like this

There looks to be a hole in the block where cylinder number one is.

Perhaps I should have made it clearer in the video. All 4 spark plugs were removed before cranking. Water only squirted out of number 1. Thanks for your comment.

You should have jacked it up with 2 plugs out then it would have got all of the water out.

I don't understand how you thought that you only needed to remove 1 spark plug?! You wouldnt have killed that engine if you had removed all 4 then turned it over. The rust marks on the 1st plug was nothing to do with the water in the other cylinders.

@@stevenw75 Unfortunately my mate cranked it over after exiting “the puddle” I suspect the damage was already done. I hate stuff getting scrapped but you can’t save them all.

damage is done its sucked water in moving smashing its valves - these minis have bad air in take location

That was a perfectly saveable engine if done right but then again the state of the wiring and split pipes it was obviously owned by someone who hasn't got a clue what an utter bunch of muppets

This mini is the R53 version the R52 is the convertible type, it will be worth saving and changing the engine, as these cars are going up in value as they are collectables.
