Can I charge the scale using the adapter that comes with my iPhone X? Can I charge the scale using the USB port on my Dell Inspiron computer? Thanks
@namdude03733 жыл бұрын
It will most likely work! Those are both USB-A outputs which don’t have compatibility issues like USB-PD. If you have enough current, you should be good! I believe the wall adapter included iPhone X is 5 volts and 1 amp which should be fine. I think laptop chargers are closer to 0.5 amps, I bet it is enough though

I have a Nexus 10 (GT-P8110) tablet that spent more than a year stored in a cabinet because of the same wifi issue. Yesterday I started researching for a fix for the 20th time since and stumbled upon your video. Obviously is not the same motherboard but your fix is what I've been looking for this whole time. So I have a small oven which I heated to about 180°C, cover the webcam in aluminum foil (it's embeded in the motherboard) and left it there for just 5min (it has some rods above of the grill on the inside that emanates heat so the process was pretty intense and I had to be more carefull with it. Still, I had it layed on a wooden piece so the metallic grill wouldn't destroy the motherboard from below). I let it rest for 15min, reinstall everything as it was and now it works. Thanks so much man, you have no idea how happy I am to have it back.

My phone dead after baking it with foil for 8 mins. checked all connections are all good. I don't think it ended up frying the motherboard as the foil wasn't too hot to touch. It's definitely a good phone except the battery drains so fast
@namdude03734 жыл бұрын
Typically this is done by putting the entire board into an oven so you may want to double check your connections - good luck!

Mine only lasted a day, unfortunately the root of the problem is the solder that LG used during manufacturing. The proper way to fix this issue is to resolder the wifi/Bluetooth chip back onto the motherboard with brand new solder

@@namdude0373 ever heard of KZbin, the platform you're posting your video? If you're using a heat gun you don't wrap the whole PCB with aluminium. It's not a potato. You apply flux on the Wi-Fi chip and you heat it up. That's it. If anything, you were supposed to use the aluminium foil to cover everything but the Wi-Fi chip so you wouldn't knock other components or damage them with excessive heat. You are using the platform that could teach you how to properly do the job, so don't give me that excuse of being uninformed. If you don't know how to do something properly, DO NOT make uninformed instructional videos for others to follow and destroy their devices.

Thanks. I've just reflowed my Nexus 5 which is nearly 5 year old, I got it soon after they were released. It recently lost WiFi so had a go today. I used a heat gun set at 250C for 5 minutes about 2 or 3 inchs away, motherboard was wrapped in foil so only the WiFi chip was exposed, let it cool completely before removing the foil. So far so good! Updated about 30+ apps from the Play store over WiFi and had no problems. My Bluetooth was working before I did this, don't know if that makes any difference or not but just stating it just in case. I've been told that a reflow is not to be considered a long term fix so I'm half expecting it to break again at some point.
@namdude03736 жыл бұрын
I'm happy to hear that! It sometimes can be a permanent fix, but usually is just temporary. What is happening is the WiFi chip solder points have broken away from the motherboard. By reflowing, you melt the solder again and try to remove the cracks in the solder. Ideally, you just replace the solder completely. Although, that is well beyond my skill level!
@fenrir79696 жыл бұрын
Yes the proper fix is called reballing. I found an AliExpress seller that sells the required BGA stencil, you can buy cheap reballing stations on ebay (basically little but heavy clamps that hold small PCBs) and then you'd just need a few consumables I guess like flux and some sort of glue? I'm not sure on the exact details as I've only watched about 2 videos on the subject. A bit like you though, I think it would be a bit beyond my skill level, I'd probably mess it up if I tried.

Mate, I literally have the same issue as you do, 5 year old phone, wifi died 4 days ago. funny coincidence. I was forced to heat gun my gpu once cuz of black screen, now the story returns for the phone. Hope it's gonna work.

Been using it as I normally would since I fixed mine, still going strong. Good luck with yours, there's still plenty of life in the Nexus 5 yet.

Spoke too soon! Turned aeroplane mode off this morning when I got up and WiFi appeared to turn on but would not connect. Long pressing the quick settings icon and loading the settings page just gave me a blank screen. Then System UI crashed and I had to restart the phone with volume down + power. Now I'm back to where I was, no WiFi but bluetooth apparently still works okay. I'm not sure if I will try again or just sell the phone as spares and repairs and move on. The battery is pretty much done as well so it's not worth it for me to try the reballing option.

anyongnan thanks for sharing! I agree with the author of the post, I think the solder joints on the Wi-Fi chip did not hold up over time. Microsoldering a new chip on is the best solution.

Fixed it for 6 hours then broke again.. so I heated it again and that fixed it for another 5 hours but then broke wifi again :( Freezing the phone seems also to fix it temporarily but it works for only 1-2 hours compared to heating which gives it 5-6 hours. I'm still trying to find a long term fix.. I tried putting a paper between cover and the chip to pressureize the chip on the board but it didn't help.
@namdude03737 жыл бұрын
Ali Alawami if this doesn't work, the only long term fix is to have someone resolder the chip back on.. the solder is breaking in between the chip and the motherboard and sometimes melting it again works, for me, I had the same experience you did.

Nebby1989 make sure the battery is plugged in properly! I ran into this a few times, you really have to push it in otherwise the connection will not be good enough. Also check the display connection. Nothing should have been disconnected in the process of heating up the motherboard, so I think the best thing to try first is to double check your reassembly.
