Thanks for the review. I've been wondering if it's a good idea to store gouache in pans? Considering that there are so few brands that do it, I assume there must be a good reason behind it. In Germany, a 7-color set costs 23 Eur and 14-color set costs 33 Eur so I think it's very worth the price if you don't have to go through all the export and markup price.

@barefacedquestions I made my own dry palette with Holbein gouache, and they work very well so far. I think that the main issue could be mold, especially in wet gouache palettes. Wow in Germany are cheaper compared to Finland 😅

Very nice and informative video. I have some, I think 12 copic ciao markers. I was dumb and used them on mixed media paper. Too thick, sucks the ink out and they were finished in a month, some two. Still keep them umtil I get refills, the brush tips are just so good. Very cute pumpkin!

did you have trouble carrying the Copics home on a plane? I really want to fly with alcohol markers but am so confused about whether they are allowed on international flights! Did you put them in the hold or hand luggage?
@deboragrosaart26 күн бұрын
@gertietheduck In my experience, I didn't have any problem traveling with them. To be on the safe side, I put them in the hold luggage. I am not aware if there are particular restrictions in some country 🤔
@gertietheduck26 күн бұрын
@@deboragrosaart the info I have come across online is so confusing TBH. Lots of people saying different things and unclear whether the only danger would be them leaking or something worse, as some people seem to use the word “combustion” to also mean sudden, “explosive” leakage due to pressure, rather than stuff going up in flames. To me combustion means actually ignition, which if an actual risk would indeed be very dangerous, even in the hold
@deboragrosaart26 күн бұрын
@gertietheduck I had a look online on the Copic site, and it seemed that you can carry them in your hold luggage but not in the hand luggage. I will leave it the link here for you: copic.jp/en/support/faq/faq-4/

I bought a set of alcohol markers from Lidl earlier this week (in Finland). I found your video looking for reviews. It seems the set has the same label as yours, but some of the colours have been changed. There are multiple shades, which I think would work for pale skin tones, now. I'm planning to look for replacements from other budget friendly brands. I assume the Lidl Crelando markers are originally made by one of the many white-label brands on the market, and the Crelando branding is done just for Lidl. At least, when I bought these, I was convinced I'd fine "dupes" online. Your video was the first search result Google gave me. 😊

Thank you for this review! It seems like a nice product. You can actually create your own gouache dried palette by pouring the gouache into pans and letting it dry. It works very well, it's even better as you can choose the brand you like in your palette. The Windsor and Newton gouache particularly rehydrate well when dried out, except sometimes the reds or very dark blues tend to crumble.
@deboragrosaartАй бұрын
@Kariboudelavega Thank you for your comment. I made a gouache dried palette with my Holbein gouache, and they rehydrate very well, too 🙂 thank you for the suggestion about W&N, I have to try them soon.

I use both pre-poured pans and tubes. I like them both. One thing that has happened with at least one tube though: I have two schmincke granulated paint sets(tundra and forest), I was re- filling forest brown into a pan, and the pigment and binder was separated. I did stick a toothpick up into the tube and stirred it around for a couple of minutes. It helped somewhat, a little bit of binder seemed to be “glossy” in the pan, but it was ok. I do love the granulated paints. I have the forest and tundra in tubes. I have some pre-poured pans too, volcano brown, shire yellow, to name a couple. Have you had to deal with binder separations in your tube paints?
@deboragrosaart4 ай бұрын
I experienced the separation just with the Daniel Smith Mayan Blue tube till now. I solved by mixing the color with a stick after pouring it in a pan and it dried completely fine. Luckily, I have never experienced any separation in the Holbein tubes and they have been open for 8 months.

You can also refill your “disposable” finepoint pens (like Pigma Micron) if the nib is still good… just use tweezers to pull the nib, and syringe in some Indian/Bombay ink…. Which is both cheap … and waterproof!

Actually you need only the three primary colours plus black and on purpose white, and you be able to mix almoust any colour you need.
@margaretf6674 ай бұрын
No need for black, it can be mixed easily. Best to have a split primary to make the most shades, so 6 colours and white depending on the medium.

review gouache with a brush not a waterbrush. Also prep the paint in the right way. You spray the paint before use so it gets soft and useable. Waterbrushes add to much water.
@deboragrosaart5 ай бұрын
I used the palette for months with both normal brushes and water brushes, of course. This review is based on my experience with the product compared to other products that i own and that I use. I don't do first impressions review in general. In every review, I share my personal opinion that can be completely different from others, and that's ok because art is amazing also for that reason. Although I like the product among student grade quality palettes.
