As always excellent work. I’m impressed with how well the chords matched the tones of the voices and strings in the actual piece. Definitely worthy of having its own cover. The color choice for the notes was quite pleasant too haha. I can’t wait to see what you tackle next! Surprisingly I haven’t really seen any great Messmer or Bayle covers so if you’re up for it I’d be glad to see those!! Like this pieces Motifs to Malenia Messmers theme is very similar to his father Radagon with the beating drums and disonant choir towards the end of phases 1 and 2 matching his in a twisted and sad way. Bonfire VN had a great video comparing some of these similarities if you’re curious to see what other new tracks match some characters and events
@moonlapsepiano4 күн бұрын
@@davem2856 Thank you so much! 💜 I appreciate that because I do try to keep the orchestral voices intact unless it becomes impossible to play with 2 hands. I haven't picked the next one yet but those are definitely in the possibilities list! I'll have to check out BonfireVN's video that sounds super interesting
@korreollonborre4 күн бұрын
My keyboard isn't big enough to play this :/ I could move one (octave?) down, but then the right hand notes would be way to light
@moonlapsepiano4 күн бұрын
@@korreollonborre I'd recommend keeping right hand where it is, and move left hand up but only when it goes outside of your range. It's not absolutely essential to hit the deepest lowest G1, G2 will still do a nice job in that sitch. Good luck! Thanks for watching 💜
@korreollonborre4 күн бұрын
I tried that, and maybe it's just me who's inexperienced but I felt it sounded nicer moving everything an octave down so I could actually get the right transposition between everything instead of missing some notes @moonlapsepiano

Great work and very nice analysis, Moon! The brief explanation of the G7sus4b13 where it's compared to the cadential 6/4 chord is very well done and well warranted. It's very important for those learning theory to know of both and to understand the differences. The bit at 2:28 is actually sick. Really, REALLY love that part of the piece, and I think your arrangement of it does it justice! Also, on a side note, loving the production quality of the video itself! Looks great

@@RubALamp I really appreciate it, but it's just too time consuming with school, and channels with a more robust music background can do it faster and better. I'm satisfied as long as covers like this keep coming though, so I'm taking an indefinite length break :)
