Thanks for such an awesome video. Last night we visited Greenville from Atlanta to see some cities like Simpsonville, and Anderson. But only found small villages, and abandoned places in those cities. Didn't like it. The next stop is Spartanburg, we have high hopes, maybe it will look like a town with lots of shops and things to do for families with kids and teens. We did not find anything in Simpsonville, not even grocery stores, maybe we looked in the wrong place.

I’m glad you’re looking around in person. Boots on ground are always a good idea! The biggest and best around this area is Greenville. It’s clean and no homeless people that we see downtown. Most people that live in the smaller towns just go to Greenville a lot. Not for groceries, but entertainment. A lot of families have a list of what’s most important for your family. You may not get everything, but hopefully most everything. We also suggest you do your due diligence and look at crime rates. There is a list of safest places to live in South Carolina.

Could you do a video on some established subdivisions and homes for sale? I personally hate new construction without mature trees. We are considering moving in the near future and trying to find more info about established older communities with homes for 7 of us and my parents.

The Rexall Drug Store in downtown Inman is one of the few drug stores left that has a soda fountain. There is a Food Lion on 176 in Inman. Other parks in the area are North Spartanburg Park, several miles away near Boiling Springs and Holston Creek Park which is several miles out New Cut Road. There are KZbin videos about these parks. This past week ground was broken at Lake Blalock in Spartanburg County, between Spartanburg and Chesnee for a first in the state nature preserve and park specifically designed for people with special needs.

There is a walking/ biking trail, the River Birch Trail, that follows Lawsons Fork Creek along the eastern edge of Converse Heights. Last year it was was extended under East Main St to the site of a former grist mill with a dam and waterfall. Residents of Converse Heights have included mayors, governor and federal judge, Donald Russell, a Secretary of State under President Truman, a domestic policy advisor to President Reagan, textile magnate, Roger Milliken, the founder of WSPA tv/radio, the brother of famous Asheville writer, Thomas Wolfe, a former director of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and a 16 year old boy who prevented Spartanburg’s train station from being torn down after a fire.

Because this model home needed handicap access to the bathroom it’s completely different. A new construction build would not have this bathroom. I hope this helps you.

If you come back to Dickens of Christmas I would also suggest visiting the Public Library close by to see the Aug W Smith Night Before Christmas dioramas. Aug W Smith was a department store in downtown Spartanburg years ago and these dioramas of the Night Before Christmas poem were displayed in their store windows every Christmas. They were built by a newspaper man who was also an artist in the 1940’s. These dioramas are considered a local treasure in Spartanburg and are now being displayed at the public library at Christmas.

Never been to Bluffton. Our favorite place to visit is Beaufort. However, we have heard nothing but good things about Bluffton. It's on the bucket list.

It’s very close to Beaufort, so you definitely want to check it out. We usually eat at a favorite seafood restaurant. We also get shrimp to take home on ice. Love making shrimp and grits! So far I like mine the best! Mike agrees!

I love how 2.89 is “amazing” In South Carolina now. I’m from Charleston and right before Biden was elected gas at a regular gas station (not even marked down like Costco) would be 1.81 a gallon. The left is literally brain dead thinking that Biden has done ANYTHING while in office.
