In Switzerland in 1990, I paid 1200 Swiss Franks for a (suburst) JD Tele. JFYI.

I had my first JD that I bought in the late 1990s that I trusted for storage to a co-worker in Yap, MIcronesia from where I never got it back (What a shame!!). :-( - I paid 1200 Swiss Franks for that (suburst) JD Tele. - In the early 2000s I bought a used one, also sunburst, from a guy in Great Britain. But that one has a small damage on the front (which surely doesn't harm its sound, but still :-( ).

Well I never! Truth is I never did! In 50 years of playing I never bent from a note not in the major scale up to the major 7th. Well, not when sober anyway. Now I've just seen and heard it. It sounds bloody great. It's a keeper, thanks to you Mark. Cheers for that.

Really interesting vid Mark! Why does the bend add so much over just playing the note itself? is it what you are bending through?

Paul Reed Smith ...well made products ! Love my SE CE 24 Satin. Its incredibly resonant. Glad they finally made an affordable model for those who otherwise could never own a PRS !😊

Screw PRS. Plenty of Indonesian guitars for $500 that are killer guitars. I know, I have one Tele style, mahogany carved top, HH, killer thin neck, red FMT. Hard case and Guitar $499.99. You will see it most all of our videos Screw PRS.

I don’t care how good PRS guitars might be but they have absolutely NO “cool” factor. Most ant Epiphone is way cooler and more affordable. IMO.

My Soapbar II SE is one of top 5 guitars. Big neck but very playable and the P90’s are excellent. Best Regards and Best Wishes!

PRS make brilliant guitars; outstanding build quality throughout the range (including the SE models), absolutely nothing to complain about. I’ve had loads of them… but I have never kept one for more than a year. I just never had the urge to pick them up and play with them - always found myself having to make a conscious effort to use them. Nothing to do with “soul” or “character” - I just couldn’t get excited about any of them but I understand how they could really float someone else’s boat. It’s just a matter of finding what speaks to you and enjoying the experience.

I took up guitar a few years ago after retiring. I was about to spring for a les paul when Gibson started suing small dealers for their 'knock-off' designs. Listening to Mark Agnesi was enough to convince me to try another brand. Got a PRS SE w solid maple top and have never been happier. Plays amazing.

Love PRS since the early 90’s. I tend to lean towards the earlier incarnations P90 McCarty, Brent Mason (which is awesome) P245 and a Custom 24 all very different but all get used a lot!
@mortonwilson7959 күн бұрын
I have played a Les Paul Custom since the early '70s / Strat since 1980 and a few other nice guitars and figured a couple of years ago I should at least try a PRS and grabbed an SE Custom 24-08 and I love it. The tonal options, feel of the neck etc are all great - not mad on the bright tangerine flame thing (the one thing I really dislike about most PRS guitars is the loud colours) but very happy customer here!
@JpeterZoom-gt3pn10 күн бұрын
I would agree about PRS I got a silver sky se and have really loved that guitar...I played the Se NF3 recently and this guitar is amazing...and got to play a PRS McCarty 594 SE and that is probably one of the best guitars I have ever played, such great tone on every setting...which is now getting me wanting a PRS NF3 SE for its very unique sound and the PRS McCarty 594 SE for its amazing tone...I am no fan of the custom 24..don't like its tone or how it plays...

I don’t understand how anyone buys into the soulless nonsense. Like what you like, but the soul argument just reeks of cognitive bias.
@shanetx8110 күн бұрын
100x agreement. I mean… i can make any guitar sound soulless. But that’s me, not the guitar. It’s always the player, not the guitar.
@nautilaz10 күн бұрын
Well, i've never played a PRS that sings to me, I really want to like them, but haven't found any character in the ones I've tried. If anything I go into the store EXPECTING to love the PRS, but come away liking something else.
@shanetx8110 күн бұрын
@ that’s fair! Not all guitars work for every player. Most Gretsch and Gibsons leave me cold. Almost all Kramer and Jackson have. I don’t blame the futures though. They just weren’t for me. Lots of other folk make them sing gloriously.

@shanetx81 yep I agree, I can't get into Gibson either for same reasons.

Bit worried when I first saw this thought you had gone off them! For me similar story, PRS NF3 picked up first but have to say I still can’t pick between it and my American Original Fender Telecaster as my favourite.
@dreamscuba10 күн бұрын
Great story and both of those PRS guitars look great. I have a Core CU24, which I bought new in 2008. I always loved the feel, but not always loved the sound. I swapped pickups twice and I currently have Porter pickups in with a vintage voicing and they sound really great. I also have a USA Silver Sky which I acquired 3 years ago whilst looking for a Fender Strat. It really came from left field as I wasn't looking for a Silver Sky. It has a maple neck, and I always thought I preferred rosewood necks. But it plays and sounds amazing. The neck is the most comfortable for me of all my guitars. But, I also have some other guitars from Gibson, Fender and Gretsch that I also really love..
