I recall watching The Partridge Family of course as a kid. After watching a few of the later interviews and performances, it seems his drinking issues were always prevalent in his life. It seemed from those later interviews that it was really only a problem from 2000 forward however, it does seem the issues were prevalent far before that.

These are an absolute treasure into David's insights at a very young age. I really think as he grew older, he finally appreciated his teen idol/Partridge Family experience and realized that without it, he would not have had the opportunities he got to have in his life. David never stopped working, singing, learning and trying new things. A talented, warm hearted, troubled soul that has left us way too soon. I think he always gave everything he had to whatever he was doing--a large audience, a small audience--didn't matter. He was so very loved.

Call me crazy Elliot… I can’t believe you exist. I had a vivid dream a few years back. I was in a different time, having an emotional outburst at a young man for telling me he’d signed up to fight in the war (I’ve no idea which war). Then we hugged, but as we pulled out of the hug the backdrop (for want of a better word) changed to that of something more contemporary and the guy had morphed into you and the woman I was had become me as I am now. If that was a past life type thing, then sorry for the outburst 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sending you love and blessings 💖

There's so much to be gleaned from this interview and in such a short amount of time! Thank you Elliott for sharing your reflections on the reality that there is a Higher Power by any given name overseeing our existence in this physical reality, whether we realize it or not! It would be fascinating if you were ever to meet and have an interview with author Gary Zukav, who wrote The Dancing Wu Li Masters and The Seat Of The Soul. I think it would definitely be a meeting of the minds!

It's some consolation that David was as able to enjoy a celebrated career on stage and performing musically into his later adult years. It seems like the role of "teen idol" was thrust upon him and listening to this audio reveals the hysterical madness resulting from that "label". It didn't represent the real person behind that contrived image. Thank you Elliot Mintz for sharing this honest account of what David had to endure and how well he handled the incongruity of it all! Bless his soul.

Joni Mitchell's next-door neighbor was Canned Heat's, Bob 'The Bear' Hite. Bob's house caught fire and burned down. Steppenwolf did a photo shoot for their upcoming 3rd album, 'At your Birthday Party,' at Bob's burned-out house that became the albums cover photo.

You have been discussed recently on a Cassidy fan page. It's said that you are seeking encouragement to post more of your personal archieve. As a David fan since 1970, I would like to encourage you to write a large, definitive biography about him. He wrote a brief autobiography, of course, but there's never been a lengthy book about him. He is the only star of his caliber that is lacking a proper book. It would easily become a worldwide best seller, and it's author would need to make a full round of media appearances, and hopefully it would spur further reissues of his music. Please, do it.
