As a kid I was a Yardbird fan when all other friends were Beatle fans. I have just about every thing recorded by Yardbirds and only a couple Beatles albums.

Awesome! Geezer obviously on the best ever bassist list, but he is also on the best ever lyricist list. Geezer's lyrics were deep, insightful, and light years ahead of their time! I know a lot of people connected to Sabbath because of their lyrics.

At 14:00(±) in re YES- IVE been a collector of Music, related Promo, Sampler memorabilia - as they get into longevity in YES - I finally got around to seeing a YEAH Show & it had Chris Squire & everyone else was there as a Ringer/Sub for the Original Members of YES. I've been refused Autographs by 4 awake adults and Jeff BECK ASa 5th 'No!'' Anyway, 2 of the Nos were Howe& White. I don't know what AWs problem was but he was saying "NO!No, Nope!" Before I even got the question out;SH WAS JUST A DIK-& I EVEN HELPED HIS BOYFRIEND PULL THE SUV OUT INTO THE TRAFFIC in the rain (& having been Hit by a car doing 40mph, I don't think I was going to be imposing too much on him). Anderson had good Pals in ARW but he was Mr irreplaceable to the 2 factions of YES- 80s' YES & ABWH yet he still complained that no one called me, sent me a nice card to make me feel better when I was VERRY SICK MIND YEW! HE WASN'T EVEN LOYAL TO ONE OR THE OTHER FACTION!‽ WOW. POOR LIL FELLA. (sniff)

First - I went to NYC's A.R.M.S.' 1st time since the '77 Zepellin Tour for a chance to see/hear ANY of Zep Live. In the recent soup of a lot of people dying: Elvis, Moon Lennon, Bonham...I wasn't to be denied this chance & even though I was Alone w/o a Ticket, I drove DC to NYC for this possibly last time we were going to see any of Zepellin in North America ever. I went as my Friends were too timid: & used school, no Tix, work in the AM excuses to stay home & do nothing as usual while I had a clean VW Camper Bus w/clean bed & they were all promised to be At Work/School in the AM. What- ever. It was the best of the Best & The Rest when Jimmy Page walked out on MSG Stage & the ROAR I was in‽ Amazing how so very loud & sustained at that volume. *What MUST be said: His Vocal Mic wasn't turned on Until he was at it or IT WAS GOING TO BLOW BACK THAT SAME LOUD VOLUME much more through HIS VOICE MIC- BLOW THE Crowd's volume thru its own DIAPHRAM, maybe Blow it out of service. That was a good 3+ Minutes of sheer adoration to 1 Man by as many Men (☝️ +4.3 Women too) as could fit in MSG 12-8-83. My only mistake was not staying at a Rest Stop & see the 12-9-83 Lennon's Death Day Anniversary ARMS Show. Why? I don't know & it wasn't a reason to me but it could have been the Last A.R.M.S. Show of the Tour, ie- More Roar for Page! Anyway- Boulder, CO to Denver/DC-MD, stored my Pack, called the Ticket Seller w/the 4 L.AID Tix for the next Day up I-95 & in Philly for directions to get 4 Tix & a Zepellin Reunion Show on the way. Those 4 Tix were RARE by then. He'd called NBC 4 NEWS & a Sat Dish was up & a Reporter w/camera waiting to make me 'famous' asked me "Hey, Do you want to be on...TV?" 'Sure, but after I have my/our Tix." & suggested my driving Friend do the Political Spin meanwhile. I'd told the Tix Gent I'd be very unhappy if I cross more than half of The USA & there's a story but no 4 Tix waiting for me. "Don't worry." 'I'M not worried At ALL; I'm from that area & I'm not worried at all. Ya'know?" Anyhoo- Our work done, everyone happy & I signed a Rights clause that I shouldn't have been so quick to Sign. "You must be pretty excited about Live AID I bet." 'I came all the way from Boulder, CO for this & we're driving up to Philly later after some sleep to get ready.' "Wow!" He already knew; I didn't figure it out until a few years ago NOW that he'd heard: 'A Guy's coming from CO for his Tix. You want a story to Promo L.AID? Get here fast, he just called for final directions.' but I don't know for sure. I said 'A LED ZEPELLIN REUNION? ARE YOU KIDDING ME‽ I WOULDN'T MISS THIS FOR THE WHOLE WORLD!' "That's something." I repeated myself a little more measured, 'I wouldn't miss this for the entire World.' Well, NBC NEWS 4DC EDITED OUT ANY/ALL MENTION OF LED ZEPPELIN I'D SCREAMED, SPOKEN, SPAT AT HIM FOR HIS NOT GOING ON THE SAME RATIONALE- REASON FOR LIVING ✂️'A Led Zepellin..‽'✂️'I wouldn't miss this for the entire World.' SO, I Sounded- through the miracle of editing/ splicing of tape ends- like a 'We are the World' Gent- 🌍- who had all of the Sincerity of Madonna & FKG lil phil Colons since all of those Folks are going to be using THAT one - Song/few Songs- as Tax Breaks even though it's a phone in your donation & the 1-800-Live Aid # was going to be on the screen at least Nation wide for the rest of the Date & MTV as a Promotional piece probably for longer. And I? I've hated Phil Colons for ruining my reason for a 4 thousand Mile round trip: Boulder>Denver>DC/MD>Philly & back the same way- probably further than anyone who wasn't on the Stage & knew what they were going to be Playing not to get a BIG PROMOTIONAL DEAL FROM CALLING ZEP HIS REAL, ACTUAL "FRIENDS" BUT DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY A SINGLE PASSAGE OF ANY OF THE 3 SONGS THAT THEY HAD TOLD HIM *THEY* WERE GOING TO BE PLAYING. HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME ON THE WASTED CONCORDE FLIGHT TO LISTEN TO? AT ALL? TONY THOMPSON SHOULD HAVE BEEN 'VERY ANGRY ' ON HIM. THAT MADE THE ONLY 1 BAND /ARTIST THAT COULD HAVE FILLED THE KENNEDY ARENA & THE MARKETING FUTURES FROM ANY FORMATTING TO COME WORTHLESS FOR LIVE AID. HOW MUCH DID COLONS MAKE FROM THAT YEAR, 'NO RESPECT REQUIRED', THE LP & TOUR-$240 MILLION (US) & DID HE WRITE A CHECK FOR THE CAUSE? AN APOLOGIA? NOPE! HE'S A MARTYR! MADONNA, CLAPTON, GENE SIMMONS, PLANT, CHER, BARBRA STREISAND COULD ALL PAY FOR FOOD FOR THE STARVING W/THE HILLARY & BILL 'CONFLICT & SPITE' RESOLUTION TEAM- WORTH $265 MILLION (US) AT LEAST COULD FIX SOIL BALANCE & HELP PLANTING TO BE SELF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE FARMS FOR THE WORLD. THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT DOES THAT- WILL BE LOVED BY THE REST OF THE WORLD. I-? IF NBC NEWS HADN'T CUT OFF EACH OF MY OWN "Led Zepellin'" MENTIONS- I'd have possibly been invited to the 'Celebration Day' True Reunion Show in London w/Jason in his own Dad's place & colons could cry about something else that only serves himself. (I Taped all of Live AID in the USA from the sweet spot right between the Stage & Lighting/ Audio Scaffolding & I didn't let a single thing get cut off; no one knew what MTV was going to switch across the Atlantic Ocean to get rather than just wait for the release of the Euro AID product. Colons probably didn't ruin much of that I bet.

It can't really be Yes without Jon Anderson....Davidson just doesn't cut it in my opinion..... nobody has explained what ever happened between Jon Anderson and Steve Howe.....the only thing I heard was in 2008, Jon Anderson became very ill and that made Steve mad and replaced him..... I'm sure I am missing something....but whatever it is, it seems that Steve is the one who is saying never again.....and Jon Anderson has tried to make peace with Steve...... Steve is insisting on his version of Yes..... sadly, Davidson is very weak sounding....he looks good but his voice is dull......on the other hand, Jon Anderson is still around and has a great band called Band Geeks....and they...in my opinion.... sound better than the current Steve Howe version of Yes.... Jon Anderson is singing great still today 2025.....he doesn't need Steve Howe....the Band Geeks are so good...they have a similar energy of the 1972 Yessongs concerts..

In my city there is a univercity that had formed an FM radio program that came on in the evenings It was called The Underground Radio. They playeed rock music you did not here on the AM popular songs. This is where I first heard the prog rock Band in the 70's. I was hooked as soon as I listened to their album cause the university radio show usually did album cuts, it was great cause there were few commercials. Then I bought tickets to their live concert in our stadium where they were performing their album Fragile, I ran right out and bought the album and played it frquently enjoying it immensly.

Saw them at the Akron Rubber Bowl in 72. They headlined a three band show with the Eagles opening and the John McLaughlin Mahavishnu Orchestra second. I was 17 and had been toking all summer to no avail (the quality was pretty poor Mexican weed then). Anyway, about halfway through Yes's performance I finally got off!. What a time!

Having - A - Rave - Up! 🎸🎤🎸🥁🎸....."Smokestack Lighting"(I have two copies of 'Five Live Yardbirds', one I listen to and one still sealed) Never saw the Clapton Yardbirds, but saw the Jeff Beck Yardbirds three times...first time with the core band and Beck, second time with Jimmy Page on bass and the time with Beck & Page on twin leads. Saw the Yardbirds two more times, the quartet configuration Page, Relf, Dreja and McCarty. Great times back in the '60s, especially that last time I saw them on 10/17/67 in Holyoke, MA. Page had by that time had painted that white Tele he got as a present from Beck for getting him into the Yardsbirds. Page had painted that Tele with his famous Dragon. That was the first time I ever heard "Dazed and Confused" and he was playing the middle section with a cello bow, 1967! When that first Led Zeppelin album came out on 01/12/69 we knew it was coming through a friend in the business we went out and bought it. AMAZING!!! When it came to "Dazed and Confused" my friends were saying how's that guitarist making those sounds in the mid - section? I told them and they all thought I was nuts, they were visually playing the guitar like a violin. When I told that I saw the Yardsbirds 1 1/2yrs. earlier and showed them how Page played it on guitar with a bow they still didn't get it. Luckily in just a couple of months on 08/19/69 the day Woodstock ended we got to see Led Zeppelin for the first at the original Oakdale Music Tent in Wallingford, CT(This was a round stage theater and as far as I know the only time they played such a gig, Joe Cocker open for them) When my friends saw them period we were all awestruck and then "Dazed and Confused" and my friends finally got it, and then later "How Many More Times" also with the bow. WOW! We didn't have to wait to see them again, a little over two months later up in our neck of the woods on Halloween 10/31/69 at the Springfield Municipal Auditorium in Springfield, MA we saw both shows that night, the first had Taj Mahal opening up. Page was now playing that '59 Les Paul burst he'd bought from Joe Walsh. And Zeppelin were playing new songs from there next album that hadn't even been released yet. Those were some magical years '66 through '69, we were lucky to see the likes of Cream, Hendrix, Joplin, The Who, early Tull, original Jeff Beck Group, original Fleetwood Mac a blues band indeed, with three guitarist that not only could play but all three sang lead. Saw them once open for Zeppelin at the Boston Tea Party in 1970 just before Peter Green left the band. From the end of the '60s into the earlier '70s new bands like FREE, MC5, John Mayall with a four piece band and no drummer("Room to Move" days) Grand Funk and a band out of Georgia, The Allman Brothers Band with Duane still with us and Savoy Brown opening up for them at the Paramount Theater in Springfield, MA...WOW!!! I started commenting on my Yardsbirds experience and ended a chapter and verse. Hope you enjoy my journey into 'live' music way back then. 🎸🔊🎶🎶🎶✌️

WHAT AN AMAZING CONVERSATION. GARY BROOKER A GENIUS BEYOND GENIUSES. SAME FOR KEITH REED AND MATHEW FISHER. THIS WAS SIMPLY NOT JUST ANOTHER BAND. IT WAS A GRADUATE DEGREE IN THE ART OF COMPOSITION AND PERFORMANCE. GARY WAS SO RESPECTED HE WAS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN EVERY CHARITY OR MEMORIAL CONCERT HOLDING A SPECIAL SPOT OF ESTEEM. KEITH REED WAS ALWAYS GIVEN HIS JUST DUE AS A LYRICIST EQUAL IN BILLING TO BAND MEMBERS.I HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT HAPPENED BECAUSE PROCAL HARUM SONGS WERE STORIES WRITTEN BY A VERY ACCOMPLISHED AUTHOR. VERY FEW IF ANY HAD THE CHOPS TO PULL OFF “A SALTY DOG”. THE 1st LP WAS PRESENTED TO ME ALONG WITH THE FIRST PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND LP AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE ELECTRIC FLAG. I’VE BEEN A FAN SINCE THEN AND SAW THEM IN PROB 75 AT A SF CLUB CALLED THE OLD WALDORF. IT WAS PROB A WEEK NIGHT ON A TOUR IN A SMALL CLUB. BUT YOU COULD SIMPLY NOT BELIEVE HOW GOOD THEY WERE.
