That makes a beautiful chain stitch. You could use a board and then two more strips of wood and make a mini tabletop with a section to slide the little machine in and then you have a tiny sewing machine

Ok, two things, the fact that you cut a pattern instead of tracing it kills me because its so wasteful and they tear so easy... seconly the fact that you were willing to be on the hospital floor... there are a million gems tacked around a hospital on the shoes of everyone... When I worked at the hospital I walked through blood, urine, feces and so many gross things.. every staff member is unable to prevent that and floors are cleaned but it is a constant happening.. you had it on your hands and you then cared for the infant not thinking about going back to the scrub sink you had to use when entering the NICU.. floors are a huge no no

@elizabethc3842 wow. You assumed so much. Our room didn't allow outside shoes. I sanitized the floor, light switches, every button in the room *myself* with ridiculously strong wipes from the hospital, with gloves on for every shift. I hand washed more than I ever have before-- and before touching anything that would touch the baby. I put fresh gloves on the change him, etc. He is well now. I didn't make him sick. I helped a young family to survive a horrible stage by lightening the load on the mother. I also have the right to cut out my own patterns that I bought with my own money. Unsolicited, judgemental comments aren't appreciated here. Go leave them with one of the catty sewing communities. There are plenty of them.

Hi this is Amalia, I just started doing this I like to sew but don’t have a big knowledge about wedding dresses or bridal dresses , do you think it’s wrong to hem the same size around ,my friend ask me to hem her dress and I just mesure how much was extra and I went around using the same measurements it was 3inches long and I went around marking the 3 inches and then folding in the area Do you think it’s not correct doing that?
@BridalSewing
@BridalSewing Күн бұрын
The problem with that is that people don't stand perfecly level, and hems don't come from the manufacturer perfectly straight. This is why we typically mark the hem many times all around.

great tutorial! Wondering tho if you have another video on how to fix the bust portion of a corset? I have a couple fancy dancy corsets (with some big ole boning and strong too), and altho the bodice is pretty much perfect, my breasts don't quite fit in the bust area. I need to fix them properly, but am unsure on how to do it correctly. So, DO you have a video for that or could you direct me to one? All the ones I keep finding are for the foam cups or making a corset all together. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Keep up the great vids!

I have used them when I have wound bobbins for a project that I haven't started yet. It keeps the thread and bobbin together so the bobbin doesn't disappear.

Well obviously the Bob and winder isn't meant to use those kind of thread spools. You should have put that on a thread stand and then it would have worked fine. You didn't really give it a fair test
@BridalSewing
@BridalSewing 2 күн бұрын
We've used a thread stand as well, plenty of times. The machine still tips and the thread wraps on the post or the bobbin spins freely. I almost thought that I had spent *too much* time explaining all of that- but apparently not. Lol 😂

I’ve had the bobbin winder for a number of years and have never had any problems with it for the number of different machines that I have. I use batteries and they last a long time. Why not use an inexpensive thread stand instead of all the wires?

I use my serger cones and wind bobbins on the same bobbin winder. To solve the problem of the cone not fitting, I put it in a quart canning jar, and put a heavy stone in the top of the winder to keep it still. Works great. Also when I have to use a large cone at my sewing machine, I use a quart jar to hold it.

I am laughing at the solution you came up with for that bobbin winder! I have the same frustrations with it. I usually run it with batteries, which add a little weight. Stacking a couple metal washers on the bobbin pin would raise the bobbin height. I didn't know the tension could be adjusted--guess I should read the directions?? Thanks.

I think a cigar box would be a good size for the box and a little bit heavier for stability. You can get them free from most smoke shops or anywhere that sells cigars,because they just throw them away when empty. Just let them know you would like one and ask that they keep the lid attached.

I love what you did with the bobbin winder as I have had the same problems and it now lives in a drawer 😏. The only thing I’m going to change when I try this, is to put the plug part in the lid section (so the case can be opened) and put a divider inside the case to store extra bobbins. Thanks for the great idea!
