Nice Pattern,Thank You.I believe there is truth behind the pulsating uv light during the curing process.They recommend starting with the Pulse initially and then finish with a steady beam.This info came from a major manufacturer.On another note were you going to demonstrate making a latex sheet?Hence the name,i like how you navigate in showing us quality items/techniques in this great craft.
@FrugalFlyRodderАй бұрын
@danjohnson2098 I'm definitely not an expert on UV. So, I never gave it any thought on the sequence of pulsating first or last, but what you say makes sense. I have had a lot on my plate the last few years, and hopefully, I will be able to bring to light a lot of things I started over time since starting this KZbin channel. I'll try to work on the latex thing over this winter. Thank you for your support of me. I just want to have fun and sharing it with people... fun, yeah, that's what I'm an expert in.

Where did you get the nice applicator for your resin?
@FrugalFlyRodderАй бұрын
@michaelhornung7266 I bought them off Amazon. The problem with them, is they are cheap and did leak until I came up with a way to stop the leaking. It was the simple use of adding an o-ring between the bottle and lid.

Another point of view on this is that you can create tube flies using cheap vinyl tubing, weighted or un-weighted, without being committed to a particular hook or hook style. With the leader being threaded thru the tube body, you have the option of going with a weedless style hook if desired. This concept can be used for everything from micro streamers to Musky and saltwater patterns. Nobody talks about this.

There must be a difference in terminology between the US (?) and downunder because what you call a split pin, we call a roll pin. The term cotter pin is also used for the split pin by some people here. Not attempting to have cheap shots, as this is the best vid I've seen on a whip build for finishing off my deer hair jigs
@FrugalFlyRodder3 ай бұрын
@goomahead3886 @goomahead3886 well... you're right, sort of. But shooting a video on the fly, sometimes things said are not that accurate. However, although the pins are typically known as roll, they are also known as split. I've made some improvements in the building of the whip finisher and am planning on a new video. I just don't know when yet.

I think it's genius! Please add a link to that so I can either buy it now or save up for it. I am a 61 year old male born with spina bifida and I use a wheelchair and I am a fixed income(SSI) and Medi-cal. I'm also new to tying as I've been doing it for about a year. I am hoping to learn more and develop a high level of tying skill so I can also sell flies etc on sites like Etsy. By the way here's an idea. Have you ever considered designing an extending brush making table that can be extended or retracted as needed? Please respond with the two links and your feedback reguarding designing an extending brush table. Maybe together we can toss ideas back and forth and come up with a design for a functioning extendable/retractable brush table? I bet we could come up with it. Thank you sir for sharing your fly tying knowledge and experience and your money and time saving hacks. Also what does the pulsating light do as far as curing resin???
