lol it definitely feels like 500% humidity and poop pond seriously, that is wild. Making a note to eat the biscuits and gravy at the red royal. I miss BWCA, we have not canoed enough this summer but the stupid heat makes me want to avoid being out in it

I think the wind kept us off the lakes more than the heat this summer. But the humidity was killer for a while. You will not be disappointed by the biscuits and gravy. - bean

Years ago I was a Firefighter/EMT and also worked in a San Antonio Texas Emergency room. One afternoon a guy came in that had lost a fight with a chainsaw. I spent six hours cleaning out all of his massive wounds of dirt, oil, wood chips and saw dust before we could sew him up. The saw kicked back hitting his forehead. Then he pushed the saw forward cutting his thigh. Then he pulled back cutting across his chest falling backwards hitting his other leg. This took so long to to get the wood out of him. We both sat there and ate lunch or dinner I can't remember which one. He said he was in shock and forgot to let go of the trigger. Needless to say he wasn't an avid user of the chainsaw. Weekend warrior stuff. Stay safe out there 😂😅

I know this video is quite old, and who knows if anyone will ever watch this video again. But wanted to share my experience in case anyone else comes across this! Just came across this video this morning before doing it myself for the first time! Dropped in at the wind lake dam near my house and went all the way into Burlington to Riverside Park. Would have gone further if the sun wasn't soon setting. Roughly 14 miles later, got picked up and threw it on the roof rack and back home :) saw one singular boat the whole time, and that was on the drainage canal portion. Was just as surprised to see them as they were surprised to see me, even asked if I was lost LOL. A guy on Oak St offered me a beer, I turned it down and asked for a water which he provided. Struggle with a lot of social anxiety and that really meant a lot from a stranger. Think I'm going to have to go back and bring him some beer even though I don't drink anymore for his kindness. I didn't even get his name, noted down the address so actually yes, I'm going to do that next week. I also believe my next purchase needs to be a drysuit, I'd love to be able to paddle more often and also not have to worry about if I flip and if I will be doing alright. I had a great time, but my arms are now noodles hahaha.

That's quite a paddle! Sounds like an awesome time. That dry suit gives me so much reassurance that I'm not being risky on the water. - bean

I take my kids fishing here all the time. Why didn't you access the pond from the east beach shoreline? Even from the west shoreline? That is literally the worst spot to access the pond. Love your cruiser 12.8. Really want to get my wife one of those little boats for paddling. And thanks for cleaning up the pond. ❤
