I really do love all of your suggestions to them , and yeah it would be a lot better to dumb it down for us all instead of being way too specific. But also changing Scrooge’s Store completely , like allowing us players to fill it up like straight from our own Crafting Stations. And also adding in a newer building and making it to be a way to get for more on the Moonstones. And also adding in a way to get a lot more of the Dreamshards. Plus also finding a use out of the Nightshards. But also getting this game to recognize us all and to welcome us back. Also getting the Disney characters to be saying something that’s way more newer. Also giving us a larger amounts of Dreamlight and for the Mist too , like from in the duties that we have to perform if we want to or not to. Also allowing us to do things on our own , instead of being bombarding us from straight out of the blue.

As someone who had a good chuck of gameplay lost after a miss save, I think this game doesn’t suit new players, there’s so many people in my life I want to have play with me but there’s no point in getting them into it’s so hard to start over, fun the first time when it was new but I’m still 10 characters (if not more) behind the added characters I’ve to dedicate a full 4 (double) page spreads to keeping track of which levels my characters are on… need to do the EI part two still but by the time I’m ready to do it SBV part two will likely be released there’s not enough hours in the day to get through everything. Hate to say but they need o SLOW down the content imo so that players who need to catch up can and if it’s too slow for others fair enough but with this game it feels like if you take even a WEEK break from playing you’ll be behind

Something I've never heard mentioned about the star path- why doesn't having your friends following you around add to the counter for items you get?? They're actively adding to your inventory so why can't it count towards the quests? Goofy picking up fish should add to the total number of fish I've gotten. Also blue bubbles are so hard to get you can really only guarantee orange and white bubbles, white because they're the standard, and orange because of the potions. So many of the fish in the star paths are just blue bubble fish and literally I'm scrambling to finish this star path because of how many there were. Good lord. I also don't understand why our player level is STILL capped at 40. It's been two years, why has this not gone up? Is it because everything they've added to the game you've had to pay for and those who aren't buying the expansion packs won't be able to? Then the devs should cater more towards those who get the game for free for a bit. I understand it's a complicated balance but they have a dedicated fanbase who is willing to PAY lots of money so I think they should take care of those who can't to get even more people into the game.

For me, the star path I feel is supposed to be fun but I find myself so busy that I don't have the time to play this game as much as others but for me the moonstone focus and pay walls are what ruined this game for me entirely. I got tired of being excited got new items because literally everything cost moonstone. The bundles are stupid and cost over 3,000 moonstones. Ridiculous

I HATE the way the star paths are done. i played for 2hours today and I'm time gated on all of my quests now. so I cant do anything now till tomorrow. Plus it took me over an hour to find THREE shiny green gems...

I get so mad when it forces me to cram out characters i don’t have unlocked just to finish the stupid star path. It’s so miserable it makes me want to put the game away and not come back.

My biggest issue was that I have started the game again because I r3ally Wana re live the magic however.... because of that I cannot do alot of the tasks

I was able to complete the star path early from learning the new tasks and leaving memory orbs alone when the last “Star Path” was done. The worst part of the “Star Path” or “Battle Pass” is you can fully complete it (if you have loose change) to purchase “Moon Stones” to convert them to event currency and then complete tasks to recover your money to limited bonus “Moon Stones” money conversion. Other developers are just as greedy. I’m an old gamer before all the “Passes” started. What all the “Battle Passes” or whatever terms are used by developers are used are bottom barrel scraping to take physical money. That’s like buying DLC and having to pay more to move to 100% completions you can’t make.

I enjoy dreamlight valley very much and I fully agree on the whole starpath issue. Plus you mentioning fornite and infinity nikki's battle passes they have is better is tbh needed to be pointed out because they could of done so much better with the star path than what we have now. I enjoy the rewards and ive been stuck at the max level im at right now since around the year the game just came out. tbh would love to see them pull you restart your EXP level per starpath/battle pass time and the rewards you get for leveling up your exp can be much more special items involving whatever theme or such the starpath you restarted on for is at thats not in there. maybe can be a bit encouraging, and yeah they need to not make specific starpath requests cause it gets very insane and difficult....like getting specific fish and gems like- come on let me mine and fish in general do i have to get 10 lobsters???? 10-15 specific gemstones thats harder to get your hands on? especially in specific areas that OTHER gemstones also appear in as said in the collection??? hopefully they get word about this somehow and take into consideration of making it fun and easier for folks for the next future starpaths at least.

I don't mind it at all. I log in, do daily things and can complete the star path and bonus well within the timeline. And I love that you can get extra moonstones after you are done.

My issue is that I restarted so a lot of the star paths tasks. I don’t even have open yet. I mean, I could go back to my original character, but I restarted because I wanted to reexperience the stories.

I've been playing for several months, going along at my own pace. This is the first star path I've decided to put effort into, and it's stressing me out! I was just considering giving that part of the game up when I saw your video. I'm glad it's not just me. I play to have fun, and the star path seems to burn people out. I'm gonna let it go.

I can't imagine Gameloft removing time limits on these things but it'd be nice to see more games adopt the Helldivers 2 approach to battle passes, in that game they're not time limited so you can jump back into the game and unlock any you missed at any time.

I hate that they keep reusing the same duties. Fishing drives me crazy! And I hate finding memories, which I think I new and needs to go away. Way too grindy. I'm rushing to finish now before it is over...

Honestly, I haven't had any problems with the star path. Even though the tasks have been specific I was able to get all of the basic level stuff unlocked, and had no problem completing the quests just going about my day to day business in the game. Plus, I'm new. I picked up the game during Black Friday sales. I've been playing it exactly like I played Animal Crossing. I hop on everyday, talk to villagers, fish, mine, etc. I don't have any of the dlcs, just the base game. I've topped out at level 40, but this game didn't really need a Leveling system at all. I feel like that's there just to make it distinct enough from Animal Crossing.

I stopped playing after last star path it got to be work not play I don’t mind the way it use to be but they made it so it takes days just to do one challenge in it so I’m taking a break I game for fun not stressing to get another thing done in my day

Thank you my thoughts exactly! I was telling my friends today about the issues with the rng and I just came across this video. The rng is so annoying for specific fish and specific gems and shiny gems. Especially fish that are caught in blue ripples. Blue ripples are so hard to come across I find orange ripples easier than the blue ones! The specific gems is just as bad, it's all draining me so much.

Is it just me or i hope that they no longer make us talk to one specific character, but to talk to other characters like they can put have a conversation 5 times meaning 5 different characters instead of waiting the next day to talk to that specific character

I 100% agree! As a semi-new player to Dreamlight Valley, the star path burned me out. I could only finish the original star path because of how busy I am. I'm so burned out that I don't even care about the bonus star path, which makes me sad because I know I'm missing out on that cute house. I'm sometimes discouraged from playing the game because all I'm doing is duties. Also, they put the cool items at the end of the star path which is another reason why it is discouraging because I might not get to the end so why bother.

I hatedddd that I was forced to unlock characters I haven’t wanted to unlock yet. I felt forced to rush through their quests when I wanted to work on the many quests I already have to do.

I actually loved the star path this time. I’m not a decorator, and I’m pretty caught up on questing, so the star path gave me a reason to play. That being said, I would love some changes to the max XP, for both us and the villagers. If we could get some additional friendship rewards with higher friendship levels, that could also help offset some of the grind of the star path where we have to talk to or gift villagers.

I enjoy playing Disney Dreamlight Valley at one certain point in time. It’s been about three years since I picked up my Nintendo switch and I pretty much gave up on the game entirely. It was very overwhelming for a person who has ADD and I can never see myself picking it up again to play it. It was just too much. It would’ve been more fun to play it and enjoy it, but I’m not bashing on the game or anything. Don’t get me wrong, but I can’t enjoy a game like that. I love cozy games but Disney Dreamlight valley is not one of them. I put so much hard time and so much money into this game for no reasonI’m just very disappointed in this game entirely once again don’t come at me wrong. I’m just saying that’s just how I feel about the game.

They've made this star path feel so stressful. I started the tasks for the new additional star path items with 14 days left, and I'm still worried I won't have time to finish. This isn't fun and I've spent so many hours and so many days across weeks on this one star path without being able to do any of the actual game because I've been too worried about not having time to finish the star path. Like, you being that far behind on the DDV star path right now with 10 days left was already stressful to see. You haven't even come across the brand new even more ridiculously time-locked tasks! D: This past Friday and Saturday I had hours each day set aside to work on the star path. But after maybe an hour each day I was time locked out of progressing in all six slots. They're punishing people for not playing every single day for weeks at a time. It's frustrating. This star path has already taken me four times as long as normal (without being finished yet) and I'm lucky that I had the time to start so early this time. I usually don't. >.<

I think you're spot on with everything you've said here, Caito. They've really doubled down on incredibly niche Star Path tasks this time aorund which has made it feel incredibly grindy, for better or worse. I totally get wanting to slow the player base down (because as we know, the desire for content is often a bottomless pit and there will be vocal players who speedrun *and* want additional content. Having said that, I do love the new bonus content and concept, but it got eeeeven grindier trying to unlock those. But I LOVE your suggestions for improving this process. I'd really love to see additional player levels AND character levels. It feelsl like an easy way to introduce new (and different) content through quests and friendship rewards, separate from the Star Path. I love Dreamlight Valley, but their content output is really lagging behind in comparison to equitable games.

Also a lil tip: you don’t have to go to the store every time to buy resonate crystals. If you have 0 you can just still press “resonate” or “resonate 10” and it will ask you to spent your pink diamonds

I understand you have tons of things to do like working, you play other games, you have your own family to take care, I only have this game and i enjoy playing the start path and I finish on time since DDV is the only game I own beside Animal Crossing. But I understand how you feel about this game.

OMFG YES. I watched this last night and was already in full agreeance but since then I have yet to be able to complete multiple "fish for this stupid fish that you dont need FOR ANY other purpose and it only appears in THESE bubbles but so do 3 other fish" type task and i am slowly losing my mind

I quit Dreamlight Valley for about a year because my PS4 couldnt handle the lag from decorations and the growing number of villagers in my plaza. But after getting a PS5 for Christmas I'm back and see the game has gotten grindier so i just focus on getting my favorite star path items because getting all of them feels impossible
