I came across your video and I feel like it intentionally came to me. Your words saved me from spiraling to depression arising from the vagueness of my pile of rejection letters. Thank you. So much.

Finally someone speaking common sense! I personally HATE rejection letters and I have no idea why people widely seem to complain that they don't receive them. Unless I have actually interviewed with them, the only thing I want to see is when are you available for an interview? Anything else is irrelevant imo. I also would not want to work for a company that doesn't see my value or that I have to chase them for a reply. They've told me all I need to know.

Thanks for this videos. I got a job just by watcjing your videos on interviewing techniques and using your template to prepare my answers to common questions. Cheer🎉

I appreciate the insights offered here. I disagree about the ghosting. Applicants deserve closure. If applicants are brave enough to put themselves out there then HR folks need to be brave enough to let them know they didn’t get the position. It is just plain rude.

I don't know anymore what these stupid employers want. They never provide any feedback and if you ask for it, they never respond.

For your continued employment, it DOES matter what the BOSSES think. I once worked under a VP who was ACTIVELY trying to replace me with cheap labour, but was concerned about the risks of cutting me loose too soon. After chewing me out for about a minute, she literally said "YOU DO NOT MATTER!" This stayed with me for years!

That is brutal but he/she does not matter all the more.

I've been off work for 8 months, but I'm doing it on purpose. 😂 My girlfriend put me in a container once, which may be relevant. 😂 OK, I'm riffing on things you're saying in the video, but you're on the bit about "there's a pile of crap here" 😂 ❤

My focus now is "Here's what I'm working on, and here's what's working." I find myself quite often shifting conversations from a rehashing of the past to focusing on what's next. Thanks, Natalie.

Having adhd makes this worse because of hyper-fixation on not having a job while other compelling events around you like having a baby while looking for a job. One of things is to decouple the job to money and job from career. Negative thinking def hurts and it is hard to switch the mindset. Keep your heads up.

You are exactly talking about me. Just started a new place of work and i dont dare talk, ask, i avoid the boss, i simply feel inferior against my workmates.. Monday mornings are the worst days. Daily i go to work with pain in my stomach. 3months now. No I ain't gonna give up.

I know this video is an older one but I just happened to stumble across your Chanel. I was wondering whether you could make a video on being „the new one“: 1. Feeling like you have to be exceptional at your job even though you’re still needing to get the hang of it. And 2. social anxiety and integrating into a work group/ not being shy about speaking up regarding one’s ideas. I know that I am very capable and smart but I just struggle with so much self doubt and because I am the new one. And I am so scared that everyone else kind of forgot about what it was like to actually be the new person… because they are all so good at their jobs. And even their „stupid questions“ seem smarter than any question I could have had… Thank you ❤

This video really helped me- after 3 rounds of interviews I expected an offer but instead got ghosted. I have another round of interviews today for a different job at a different company and instead of thinking about being rejected for what I thought was my dream job, I plan to place my focus on today’s interview and moving forward. Because seriously- do I really want to work for a company that doesn’t want to hire me? What she said was spot on- thanks for a great video!

I left my job because I felt weak and disrespected there. My ex-boss thinks I'm incompetent. She was once upset I had signed up for a one-person shift, because she didn't think I could manage alone. She scolded a lower-ranking manager for not noticing I had signed up a coffee service. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. Sure, I'm a slow learner and have messed up at work before, but you got a lot of guts labeling and shaming a guy with learning difficulties like that. The fact that she trusted the newer workers to work alone but not me hurt, as did her willingness to indicate I'm inferior, no apology since then. I know her type. She didn't even respond to my two-week notice.

Having to work your way through college causes nervous breakdowns. This is even worse than having to work two jobs and only allowed 5 hours of sleep every single night. Not to mention the 100+ miles of daily travel, often in hectic traffic. All of this in the hopes that you (might) be able to get a $60K per year job working in an office cubicle which is often barely enough pay your rent, utilities, food, insurance etc.. This is unnatural lifestyle and human beings weren't meant to live this way. Go watch the movie office space, and read the works of Franz Kafka. Extreme capitalism starts eating itself.

I have never felt more validated with the idea that the person explaining can be bad at explaining. My boss explained things really vaguely when I started and I thought I was an idiot for not getting what he wanted me to do because he was getting really frustrated with explaining what he meant.
