I loved this book and am so excited for the film! Although the book is so short I could read it again for Christmas to be honest...But I'm interested to see what they do with the film

You inspired me to go and watch the film, oh wow, as a film lover and drama nerd, this was an epic one! I love the scene with the puck monologue, the words of the monologue also match what he is trying to communicate with his dad. “If we shadows have offended think but this and all is mended, that you have but slumbered here, while these vision did appear” - you can accept me as I am, all this is just a show, just a play, I am still me, I am a human being…also the scene where he changes his mind and doesn’t tell his father how he feels, I imagine him looking into his future, military school, medicine, doctor, being forced to marry a woman and that’s when he decides…I will never escape this. Heartbreaking.

I have needed to voice my opinion on this for a while so I’m gonna here lol (and no shade towards the ppl who see this in todd and Neil’s relationship, I just interpreted it differently). I do not think that Neil and Todd had a crush on each other, they definitely loved each other but in a platonic way. As it was shown, Todd had extreme anxiety and probably never felt like he fit in anywhere, Neil took Todd under his wing and cared for him with genuine concern that (most likely) Todd had never been shown before. This led them to become closer and, speaking as someone that is very much an introvert with anxiety, when you find someone who cares for you and is patient, you naturally feel safe with them and are very affectionate towards them. I believe that Neil and Todd were best friends and nothing more, two people that could depend on each other over anyone else they knew and grew close (platonically) because of that.

Neil deserved a supportive father 😭❤

I had been meaning to watch Dead Poets Society for yeas and yearssssss and you finally inspired me to watch it. I love it so much and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I also watched Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind after years of procrastinating and it was truly phenomenal. I think I was worried that these films wouldn't live up to my expectations but they both exceeded everything I hoped they would be.

one of my most favourite films of all time! i managed to make majority of my english assignments in school about dead poets society and tried to convince my whole class to watch it. it's one of those movies that changes your life.
