I love your videos, we are the same age but couldn’t be more different! We are in the very S of Britain but we on a similar path touring Europe. Your videos are required viewing. I also suffer from bites. Have you tried Avon So Soft? My problem is that I’m never able to cover every inch of my skin!

Thank you😀 We had no idea people would watch at all. Honestly, we just thought that making videos was better than leaving a dusty old box of photographs😀 We’ve never tried Avon. It’s popular up here because of the midges, but the midges don’t bother us too much. The odd thing with the mosquitos this year was that they were tiny. We’re used to hearing that little high pitched buzz and seeing them on your skin. This time you didn’t even feel them. The first you knew was when you felt that itch and the bump😀. Really odd. Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Hi Sheila and Gavin😀 It was like being in Scotland😀. The only thing that stopped the biters was high wind. Luckily?? we also had Storm Boris😀. The stove might blow away, but at least the stinging stopped. Also we found a giant spider in the van. One more of those and I would have burned the van to the ground😀 I’m not sure if I’m selling this European touring stuff😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Thank you😀 We do have another one coming out tomorrow (just finished it)😀. We’re not the most prolific of video makers😀. I really don’t want to feel that KZbinr stress people seem to get and we’d rather make shortish videos that hopefully have some use and aren’t too boring😀 I think this trip is probably a four parter. We just sometimes think that there are tens of thousands of people touring Europe and overwintering in Spain and not making videos because it is easy, and they are busy enjoying themselves. Thank you😃 We really hang around Northern Italy, so we don't really know about anything further South. We were just saying that at the bottom of Lake Garda here, we are paying the equivalent of £37.90 a night for a top end campsite (paying more in the UK now) and could be 27 Euros a night just along the road on ACSI. Up here it's a bit of a bargain compared to the UK. Cheers, Brian and Rhona😃

@RobbotheHighlander
@RobbotheHighlander Ай бұрын
Hi Roy😀 We went from booking nothing, to booking en-route (but knowing where we wanted to go), to booking everything in advance. Booking in advance was largely driven by the post Covid camping boom (we suspected the campsites would be much busier and they are). I also felt that when we were just drifting around we were spending far too much time figuring out where to go next, when we should have been enjoying ourselves😀 To us it seems easier now to do all the work at home😀 Also if you are time and money limited (as we are), we get a bit more bang for our buck with a bit of planning😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Hi Richard😀 I think the most fun we had was on the motorbike with a tent😀. I think it’s because the less you have the more you do, but also because the actual road miles are just more fun. The van is just a bit better for all season camping and winter long staying in Spain😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Their great vans😀 We always felt that 6m was ideal for us, mainly because it let us easily access the tight little sites we found in Europe when we were motorcycle touring. I think I’ve said this before, but we did look at a rival van which seemed roomier inside. Luckily I realised that it was because the rival vans overhead lockers were much narrower. I think the CV40 is much better for extended trips😀

Hi Leanne😀 Yeah, I think about 3hrs is our average as well😀. In early and out early. We’d stayed at Fusina twice before when we were motorcycle touring. Both times in the old cabins they used to have, normally because our tent had been soaked in Slovenia😀 Last time with the campervan I think the Fusina/Venice bit was the part we were least looking forward too. We only booked a lakeside pitch because the main campsite looked a bit of a free for all on the earlier trips. It was nothing but a transit really, but it turned out to be a highlight of the trip😀.
