Really enjoyed that your travels in Spain ,also the memories of your apprenticeship I’m 70 now and still remember some of the men who taught me on the job as apprentice electrician with great fondness . I still bore my wife now and again looking back telling her stories I’ve she has heard

Thanks Graham😃 Luckily for Rhona she also knows/knew most of the people who worked in the Shipyard so she dodged the bullet on that one😃 It seems to me most of the older tradesmen understood the influence they were having on a young persons life. Thanks Sheila😀 We’re really glad you like them😀 Every now and again we get off a ferry and come down with something. It’s a lot of people who have been travelling around suddenly in a confined space I guess. This was a real vicious one though😀. Good for the immune system though I guess😃 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Glad you’ve both got home safe , great to see parts of Scotland we know well on your way home , really enjoyed your videos again this year , will look forward to new trip and of course the big European tour , as you say do it while you can which is definitely something we are trying to do , take care both

Thanks for that Neil😀 I still remember that when we hit 50yrs old I started thinking 10 Summers to 60 - that’s all we have, so better make the most of it😀 10 Summers to 60 became a sort of mantra. I think I’ll start using 7 Summers to 70 now😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Cheers pal😀 Glad you enjoyed them😀. Although we’re going to Italy and stuff later this year (and so not going to Spain Jan/Feb 2025), we are hoping to tour Spain in May 2025 (like we used to). There’s a couple of sites in the South that there’s no chance of getting on in a Winter, and we want to revisit Northern Spain as well😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Really enjoyed your travel journey which made us laugh at times, so sorry that you were ill as I would be sailing. that's why we prefer the tunnel. I would like to know more about your travels in Northern Spain as that is the route we are doing next month making our way to Benidorm then leaving 6 days to travel back up to Calais. As this is our furthest trip South it is our chance. to see what we need and what we can do without before venturing further afield. Take Care Drew & Linda🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Drew and Linda😃 I don't know if this is obvious but San Sebastian would be well worth a stop (Tapas). Being on the East side of the North Coast it's kind of on the route. In Northern Spain we like to dodge around the Picos de Europa mountains, and a couple of nights in Santander (Tapas) but both of these are a lot easier if on the direct ferry. You can't go wrong😃. I always think of Northern Spain as being like Scotland but with far better weather (May to September at least)😃 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😃

Hi Brian and Rhona-good to hear you have enjoyed the Spanish trip- we have just spent 2 weeks visiting Loch Lomond, glen Coe, sky and mull ! We loved it but storm Kathleen was very challenging! We will return to explore more . Love lake Garda ! See u , claire

Thanks Claire😀 Good to hear you had a good time😀. When we get back from Spain in March we have often been able to get on a local Inverness site, bask in sun and give the van a good clean out. Not this time. We’re just back from our first Scotland trip this year ourselves and as you said it was challenging . Still, better days to come😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Really enjoyed your journey and our virtual travels with you guys. We often take our caravan to North Ledaig caravan site. It’s a fabulous site. The views there fill our hearts. It would be lovely to see you there. Mags and Doug. X

Thanks Mags and Doug😀 We’ve often thought about North Ledaig for an overnighter on the way to Campbeltown (or back). We often stopped at the Camping and caravanning site just along the road just out of habit, but perhaps it’s time for a change😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Filled rolls at Inverary on the way up, the milk bar at Luss on the way back😃. Although when we got older it was a stop at every pub on the way back😃. Every mile a memory♥️xx

Still kind of hoping to get back to Spain May 2025 as well though, to tour like we used to at least once more (we love Northern Spain, but it’s way too cold in the Winter)😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Thanks Angela😀 You know I had to cut huge bits out of the section where we were talking about Bill Millin and his son. It was really emotional talking to the landlady about it. She said that Bills son didn’t know she had seen him playing the pipes (he was trying to keep it kind of quiet). When she got talking to him he told her that his dad had said he had always wanted to have a pint at the rising sun (I guess his son was having it for him). She said when they heard that the bar bought him his pint and his meal, and I believe Bills son is now going to play at the big D day anniversary meal they are having this year. I tried to say that in the video, but I just couldn’t get the words out😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Thanks Rick😃 Living up in Inverness we used to feel (years ago) that the long drive from Inverness to Perth was two hours of nothing😃. Mainly I think because it's Perth where the main roads spur off in all directions. Endless hours on autobahns etc made us appreciate it a bit more😃 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😃

Hiya and thanks😀 That’s it, and also maybe drop a few breadcrumbs for them😀. We were taught about the Hudson Bay company, the merchant marine and the great explorers in school. Admittedly, that was in remote Scottish schools and i suspect we were effectively being taught to leave. I’m not sure how much of that stuff is taught in schools now😀. Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Thank you😀 We think we were very lucky that they lived with us for most of last Summer, because they just treat our house as their own. It’s great😀 There’s a slim chance we may get to Spain next Spring for a month. We really want to tour some of the places we used to go again (just to liven us up a bit)😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Thank you😀 KZbin was (and still is) so far out of our comfort zone, that I think we’re still terrified of boring people so I have a tendency to cut and cut to make videos as short as possible😀. This one was at least twice as long. We’re learning though😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀
