Wow, great video. Ive heard in order to install a roller cam and roller lifters into a gen 1 sbc, you have to install tall lifter sleeves so the oil holes on the lifters dont lift up too far out of the lifter bores. I would like to do this to my engine, but im not sure what all is involved. I really worry about wiping a cam lobe during the "break in" period with a flat tappet cam. Thats the nice thing about the roller cams, no need to break in the cam. What brand of timing cover is that you are using ? Great video !

Can you show me the power source, I bought a 72 without a heater and starting from scratch. I bought a used heat box, new heater core, a new blower motor, gasket set, cables, wire harness that goes between the controller and the blower motor but I don’t know where the power source comes into play.
@skillsmydadtaughtme8802 ай бұрын
@@jerrygomoll8130 sorry I cannot be much help here. The power supply runs from the fuse box to the control slides, then the switch from the control slide box go to a harness that is hidden behind the heater box. I’d recommend finding someone local that will let you look at theirs to find what you need. Good luck man!
@editrento12 ай бұрын
When you turn the middle slide switch, that turns the heat on. There’s a brown wire coming from your fuse box. That’s the wire for the heat

Glad you found it helpful. Practice when you get your trailer. Go to an empty parking lot and practice backing in a straight line using your mirrors. Then try to parallel park up against a painted line. Do this for both sides. This will take some of the intimidation out of it.

I agree with the new tech. involved in new rig. being frustrating. I do like newer powertrains in older rigs though, they do have advantages, but wanting power windows shouldn't mean I HAVE to get some electrical package with things I don't want and certainly don't need. You might look into an aftermarket fuel injection system and rear disk brakes... Good luck with the build...
@skillsmydadtaughtme880 Жыл бұрын
Good points. The cold morning starts with this manual choke and gassy smell have me considering a fuel injection system already. I really want to see if this engine will be powerful enough to pull my trailer before I dump more money into it. If it’s too weak then I’ll be swapping it out for an entirely new engine anyway.

Just a tip for that steering wheel club. They were just cut the steering wheel and remove the club then drive your truck away😂 you’re better off putting a secret kill switch on the ignition someplace🤘🍻
@skillsmydadtaughtme880 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike. Like every security device, if someone wants it bad enough they’ll get it. The idea is to make it difficult for the casual opportunistic thief. The club is a step in that direction. A kill switch is another step. But I’d rather them see a major hurdle like the club BEFORE they smash a window to get in only to discover it won’t start. I had a club actually prevent a theft before on a different vehicle. They broke in and tried to drill the club lock but couldn’t. Cost me about $100 to fix the break-in damage but that’s it. A smarter thief would’ve done what you suggested and cut the steering wheel. Thieves usually aren’t as smart as you or I.
