@@skillsmydadtaughtme880 454 with th400. Working on tearing out the trans this weekend as it won’t go into gear except reverse. Believe the clutches burned out.

@@nickschloesseroh nice, I will probably swap my 402 for a 454 at some point to get more torque for towing. I had to have my th400 rebuilt also. I installed a tranny cooler too, again for towing. Good luck with your project!

My 70 C10, I have to lift up on shifter for it to start and sometimes my reverse lights are on in park. I'll have to look at all this. Thanks.

Yep, I’d start with the linkage nearest the tranny looking for slop. That is the most common area.

Do you have a part number for that bracket that you replaced?

I don’t, but it was from LMC Trucks online.
