I was there, and Fat Old Sun was, by far, the highlight of the evening, a notch above Comfortably Numb. And Romany was awesome too!

Always liked the song but the way he played it live was mind blowing. So glad I got to see the legend once in my life.
@richvince1627Ай бұрын
@fattymcjebers Along with the long, electric version of The Embryo, this version of Fat Old Sun was a concert staple for the band in 1970, commonly referred to as Sing to Me. Those two songs are my favorite live Pink Floyd tunes, when they were still essentially a jam band.

I saw him perform this at the Hollywood Bowl last night, in my view this song stands shoulder to shoulder with his best work for Pink Floyd, showing his creative spirit shines as brightly as it ever did. In fact more so, because this song is about mortality and facing the end of one's life, looking back at a long life full of rich experience and loved ones, realising impermanence but also blazing with the passion of the present moment - time goes on and never stops but now - now I am alive, and this is how life feels, it is glorious... Listening to this sounding clearly and loudly live (so much clearer than this), with the lasers blazing behind him, realising this is the fiery phoenix song of one of the greatest musicians of his age, oh it was grand and profound and a fitting tribute to the genius that he is. What a life. What a song! I was SO LUCKY to see and hear it live. The entire concert was a revelation. A spiritual experience. He expresses the ineffable through music like nobody else.

We also saw him in London at The Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 9.10. Amazing concert. Never will forget this. Greetings Dirk Belgium

En este tema noto una emoción en Gilmour. Siento que se le pasa toda su vida en esta canción. Para mi uno de los mejores temas solistas. Lo siento como una despedida pero a lo grande, a lo Gilmour

Absolutely, it feels like it wraps up all his feelings about his life and his legacy, what it feels like to be an old man who has lived a wonderful life full of incredible experiences and to know that his time left is short compared to the amount he has lived, and the last remaining days of his life are stretching and dilating as he comes to experience the present moment more and more intensely the closer he gets to the end. Until the guitar solo distils his emotions into pure glory of life and how wonderful it is to be alive, surrounded by loved ones, yes everything is going to change and he can't stop it, but for now, he is alive and it is poignantly, utterly beautiful.

He tends to improv his solos a bit when he’s getting bored on tour, but in this case I think it was because he was having trouble with parts and decided to play something a little easier on his fingers.

I've been watching many videos from this tour and he's been having a hard time. Usually, he's spot on but he's been struggling a little bit on this tour. Maybe it's age. Maybe he just needed more time to rehearse and really get comfortable with the material. I still love him. He's my favorite. Sadly, this is probably going to be his last tour, but one never knows. I'm just glad he's still playing and his new album is great. He says he's going to get back to recording another right away, so let's hope that happens.

@@Beyza_nur_merve19 i’d still pay to see him. I saw him during the 1994 Division Bell in Pontiac, Mi amazing show. The mistakes don’t bother me. I read all about how bands pre-record their shows. (Eagles) I’d rather authentic playing.
