The Habs should of called up Steven Fletcher from Sherbrooke for this game.

A une époque les gardiens canadien jouaient sans casque , dans se match les joueurs canadien jouent sans leur casque , mais le jeu était assez violent aujourd'hui sa va plus vite mais a cette époque le jeu était vraiment brutal . ❤👌🤝⚡

The Garden still had the player benches on opposite sides of the ice. Actual fights where guys wanted to hurt the other guy not just have a fight "to defend their teammate". Wonder why fans from this era complain about today's game?

Anybody know what song the organist is playing at 2:48? Is that Traffic? It’s just the opening strains but now it’s driving me nuts…

Some great names on the still cup champs. What a nifty play by McPhee at 3:30 -- doing Cape Breton proud.

Pacific Coliseum was nearly identical to Edmonton Coliseum at the time, I believe it was the same builder, Batoni-Bowlen. Stephane Richer sure had his share of spectacular breakaway goals in his career
@vmme62192 күн бұрын
Ricci did give him a little poke with his stick (wasn’t a spear… but in the general area of the groin) that probably pissed off Messier. Didn’t equate to a wicked slash on the wrist, but Messier doesn’t play around.

No audio? … who was Steve Rooney fighting? I guess Kordic wasn’t in the lineup… it looked like Dave Ritcher was trying to fight someone on Montreal’s bench..David Maley

Imagine if Bobby Orr was healthy and able to play in this series. It's an historical tragedy that we couldn't see his brilliance in this context.

Here here good ole time hockey all dats missing is a Ballentine Ale and some White Castle. Oh yes why was it the game seemed more of a challenge then today??? Most definitely for the under development goalie maybe because of the crude equipment which these players seemed to grasp with both hands and not let go.... In other words today NHLer's are spoiled cause take it from me I am ole timer too go Vic Hatfield!!!!! Go NY Rangers 2024😊

Not often that Probert gets beat
@neilm27944 күн бұрын
He got beat a lot. Fraser handled him well, as did McCarthy, Berube, Brashear, and quite a few others. Probert's reputation came from sheer volume of fights, and being hopped up on various stimulants.

No argument but let's no act like Avery was some all time runt who made a career out of being a pest. Dude lasted 500ish games over 12 seasons. If it wasn't for his exploits I'm not sure anyone would remember him any more than Gilies in terms of just hockey ability.
