Something I think Mantic has done well with is making the re-skins feel different. Mars Attacks used the Deadzone core as well, but the shared card deck, random events and focus on scenario play made it feel much different than core Deadzone. I expect / hope this will hold true for Halo as well.

Oh the Fanatics got nerfed a bit.. You need 10 NGs per Fanatic now and they spin in place if you roll a hit, in subsequent turns iirc.. I actually sold all my Night Goblins.. As people spam them and i want to get the multi-part Ngs instead.. I hade the Aos or 7th Ed ones..

Great videos! AFAIK units in Marching Column may declare a charge because of the "Drilled" special rule.

I'm guessing either the covenant is in another box or unavailable yet?

Pointing out that the battle trait "Peerless Manoevres" is also 'core'. That means if you fail that 3+ roll, that unit cannot move. It's bonkers.

Don't forget, you can only generate a maximum of 1 CP per attack action using a Walked Fire weapon (like a Minigun or Gatling Laser). The Target Quick Action icon (errata page does mean "Shoot Action" so you can fire a Rifle, Handgun, or Big Gun. This is explained in the entry on the Orange Mentats in the Items and Equipment section of the Errata. You cannot use the Quick Action Shoot Action during melee, because it's not a Melee Attack.

Raiders don’t shoot well, makes sense they use probably the worst weapons in the game (pipe weapons lol 😂). Raiders being melee/cheap makes a lot of sense

In real life (and in the Fallout games) you Can try to bounce a grenade around a corner where you think there are bad guys but you can't see them. I actually threw a couple of Pumpkin grenades at an Angler hiding in the water. Dang if my second grenade hit the water and ricocheted to hit me. Twice. Self scatter is a thing. :) (Sigh. My son wasn't allowed to throw a live grenade during Basic training because he didn't throw the dummy grenade good enough. He didn't go into detail, but we never played "catch" because we weren't into sports.)

The Prepare Quick Action...pre-nerfed Frank was crazy...especially if you make him Heroic. One of the versions of Frank got two Attacks as a Quick Action, plus the Quick Action Attack you got as Heroic...So if you ended up banking 3 or 4 Action Points, he could Shoot or Melee up to 5 times in one turn...Or combine that with moves or charges. The Sentry Bot/Space Sentry can shoot Big Guns/Heavy Weapons more than once per turn, you could shoot the Mortar and a Minigun/Space Laser, earn a Prepare as a Quick Action and then use the other arm weapon as a Reaction. Now there are rules for the Mortar, I cannot wait to field it. :)

I pre-ordered the BOS bundle and added a bunch of other stuff and have bought so much more of the Wave 1 stuff, I really wish I had gone ahead and ordered the Vault Dweller bundle, which was one of everything, which would have saved me a couple Benjamins. Some of the rulebook feels like it was written by engineers who assume their customers are as smart as they are and it should be obvious. :) But no other game I've ever played has given me as much access to the developers through social media. They also impressed me that they really care because they're also gamers.

I got an email today that the Vault-Tec Simulator was updated again, to version 1.3. Luckily, I have only printed the ISEEIT reference sheets and the profiles at the end. Maybe they fixed some of the flipped around icons..

I think the example with the Mr. Handy being able to go over deep water while the Sentry Bot can't, even though they both have the Unimpeded Symbol is one of those cases where the designer assumed the end user is as smart as they are, so it's obvious. :) Since Swan walks out of deep water in the game, I guess he leaves deep water, but can't go back in? :) "Power Armor ignores "ALL" falling damage including heights that would automatically remove the model." When you fall from Green, Blue, or Black, it's Black dice + 6, 8, or 10 wounds, which would overwhelm the Health of most units after an Armor Save. So Power Armor (except for Recovered NCR Power Armor) ignores falling damage. Which is correct in the videogames. According to the example next to Falling Damage, you don't add 2 Black Dice each increment, you add 2 Wounds at each increment, so Orange is one Black Dice, yellow is one Black Dice +2 woulds, etc.

James Sheahan errata'd Armor Boost tokens and Strong Armor. If you have Strong Armor, you can't use Armor Boost tokens. Strong Armor also doesn't stack. The Sole Survivor in T-60 Power Armor is a Unique Survivor, so she gets an Armor Boost token. She can't use the Armor Boost token with her Power Armor. A quirk with the game, it uses "video game" logic, so when you are hit by an attack, you can choose which armor value with items to use. Nora can choose to use the Armor values on her unit card plus any armor items and spend the Armor Boost token to cancel a wound. If she chooses to use her Power Armor, the Armor Boost token is still spent, but it doesn't remove a Wound from the attack.

If you're reacting to a charge, the charger doesn't get the armor bonus because they're not engaged yet. The reaction acts like an interrupt and requires a little imagination. For example, discounting Battle Cry, a Super Mutant charges a Sole Survivor. The Sole Survivor has a Prepare token, so she shoots at the charging Super Mutant at a -2 to her shooting skill. The Super Mutant hasn't engaged her yet, so he doesn't get the armor bonus. And I've been overlooking "the Battle Cry ignores Prepare" and Prepare Shooting attacks only involve the triggering unit. Things are tightening up. As far as I know, you can't "bank" Prepare tokens.

Some units can give special abilities to themselves or other units if multiple units are activated in their turn.
