It gives a chance to get more out of them, plus some other fun effects. I think they want some lookalike items there too, but I forget. Recruits only stay if you get them out of the dungeon alive, so be careful. Bring an escape orb if you really want to keep them (having one on hand is usally good practice, anyway). Take higher rank jobs from the quest board. You can also mix outlaw and rescue jobs in the same dungeon. A job is a job. Doing this let's you level your team rank to get more item space, better jobs and rewards, plus I think it levels the Spinda Café. It's also sometimes a good idea to read what they want from the job itself, even the flavor text can provide clues about what it could entail sometimes. Good luck stopping the time crisis!

I don't know if you know this, but basically every story event gets the pokémon in the town and guild chatting. They'll pretty much always have something new to say after every story beat. There's even some rare interactions if you explore every nook and cranny enough. It's not necessary for the main story, but it makes the world feel alive.

I don't know what your keys are mapped to, but I think whichever one is R can let you move diagonally. In addition, when holding that key that brought up that yellow grid, it should stop your movement and let you orient yourself in a fight without using a turn. Every step or move counts as a turn. If a pokémon is slowed or sped up, they can go TWICE IN A ROW!! Moves like agility are broken for this reason. Your dash still has a 1-tile/1-turn pace, but you'll pass over items, so So don't run willy-nilly. Dash only stops at walls, room exits, items, hallway intersections, and pokémon. It's usually best to save it for hallways. (If you stop in a hallway with no intersection or pokémon, I hope you brought a ghost type pokémon or a mobile scarf, because either through feature or bug there's an item directly next to you, hidden in the walls) Please equip the sky blue ribbon and Def scarf. As in hold them. They only boost stats when held and the sky ribbon boosts every stat at the same time (try not to lose it, there's rare instances where you can, like tripping and having it land in lava or something). There's many items like this. Only a few rare items boost from the bag, but those are specific cases Place the pebbles/sticks to drop the whole stack in one move. They're good for range attacks if you don't have any range moves. Also, range is king in these games. Quick attack and fake out both attack 2 tiles in front of you. Where most moves only hit directly in front. Moves like growl have the range of the whole room. In hallways, this means 2 tiles in front or behind, but in any sized room proper, you lower the attack of all enemy pokémon inside it. Some moves just shoot in a straight line. Another point about moves: multi hit moves are deadly ESPECIALLY at range like bonemerang or bullet seed. Furthermore, when you were attacking around that corner, if it were a puddle-like hazard it would have hit, but because it's a wall it was blocked. HOWEVER, some moves, like ember, can shoot around corners. When you were with kangaskhan, whatever the L button is mapped to can let you select multiple items for storage. You don't need to store/remove one at a time. Store your gummies and proteins and the like for later, btw. This is for something that comes up in this game that lets you get more out of them.

It's the definitive version of the 2nd game(s) in the PMD series. The gameplay can be a bit repetitive, but the story is considered fantastic by anyone who has played it. It even features a post-game story! As the definitive version, there are new dungeons to play, some extra features, faster saving than Time&Darkness, and you get some extra side quests and bonus episodes. (Compared to PMD Time and Darkness) If you want an idea of how good this game is, many people, myself included, consider this to be the best pokemon game. Fair warning: this is before fairy type (gen 4, I think). Adjust accordingly. Also, try and situate the top and bottom screens like they were an actual DS. There are several beautiful shots that span both screens. The rom has some glitches in it, but they're minimal. Some tips: Try and take jobs from the same dungeon. Trust me, this helps. Moves that have no effect in mainline games can still deal damage, typically more than just hitting A. Wonder Tiles reset stat changes (both for better AND worse). The game has secrets that I didn't know about until a decade later. Like hidden wall items. I hope you enjoy discovering this wonderful world of Pokémon!
