I don't know what your keys are mapped to, but I think whichever one is R can let you move diagonally. In addition, when holding that key that brought up that yellow grid, it should stop your movement and let you orient yourself in a fight without using a turn. Every step or move counts as a turn. If a pokémon is slowed or sped up, they can go TWICE IN A ROW!! Moves like agility are broken for this reason. Your dash still has a 1-tile/1-turn pace, but you'll pass over items, so So don't run willy-nilly. Dash only stops at walls, room exits, items, hallway intersections, and pokémon. It's usually best to save it for hallways. (If you stop in a hallway with no intersection or pokémon, I hope you brought a ghost type pokémon or a mobile scarf, because either through feature or bug there's an item directly next to you, hidden in the walls) Please equip the sky blue ribbon and Def scarf. As in hold them. They only boost stats when held and the sky ribbon boosts every stat at the same time (try not to lose it, there's rare instances where you can, like tripping and having it land in lava or something).
