I'll be honest. The S3 is a furiously overrated car. I was very disappointed with 2 that I test drove. M235 however is very well balanced and damn near track ready.

I've got a 987.1 in 2022. I felt the old PCM was severalty outdated. But I love the analog drive and how the shifter is like a finely tune riffle. But doesn't creek or rattle. Solid as the day it was new. Recently, I installed myself the PCCM from Porsche. It provides Apple Car Play, BT, etc but maintains the classic look of the infotainment system. Since this was the only thing bothered me, it's now resolved. I did take a look at 981, I could tell it was 10 years old, and 718 was newest interior. Everything ages, but that's what makes it special from brand new model.

Does the brakes change for 981. 987 S has the 911 brakes(?) vs. Non-S.

In my opinion the standard headlights are weak, especially on country roads at night, when their beam just doesn’t carry far enough for safe fast driving. My car was an ex demonstrator so I was unable to specify better lights. Expensive to properly upgrade aftermarket and upgrade just the bulbs are said not to last due to overheating. The 981 is still a great car and in my opinion handles way better than 911, 993 that I’ve owned.

PCMs are subject to total failure on all Porsche models 2014-2018 approx. Mine on 981 failed without warning. £3k to replace if Porsche do it. More recent versions of PCM are more reliable.

Still love my gti sport. Bought new (0 miles) in 2017. Only mods i made were wheel spacers and unitronic stage 1 91 octane tune. Put some summer tires and it becomes a canyon carving beast. Hope you’re still enjoying it!

How is the drone? From the camera mic it sounds like there is a lot of sub-low rumble, but it is really hard to tell. At 2000 rpm does it make your ears pop? Or is it more like a stock closed PSE system?

With an S variant you will get mini pops and cracks as you push the pedal so you must have a base model. I feel sorry for you and all your lost hair. If there was a way I can get your channel to be deleted I would do it.

Great usefull video. I would have a weird question. Which button on your remote control opens the valves ? The lock or unlock one ? I'm asking because my Porsche local mechanic has installed a PSE on my 981S using the Soul Performance valve controler kit and the lock button opens the valves and the unlock button closes them, which seems to be the contrary of common sense. I suspect that he inverted some vacuum... When I start the car engine the valves are open. An answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
