All very nicely designed aluminum pieces and such, but these front-wheel-drive units are exceedingly unstable in turns and will send you into a roll-over in the blink of an eye. I've got over 30 years experience w/ all manner of adaptive equipment and have ridden multiple handcycles of various designs and can say w/o prejudice, this is a dangerous configuration.
What’s a good hand cycle to upgrade too. I like something that can go off road and road. I currently have the old Jedd. It’s 14 speed. My friends in BC made it years ago and it still work’s awesome. Served me well..

From a paraplegic of over 30 years experience w/ adaptive equipment, this entire design is a sad, bad joke. All very nicely designed aluminum pieces and such, but really disfunctional to be able to crank or steer, but not both at the same time, but that's just one issue. Also, the cranks being off-set like this design utilizes, produces inherently less power vs both arms cranking together and makes the unit decidedly unstable w/ your weight and torque shifting left and right as you crank. Instability is not what any rider is looking for. You need to be able to crank w/ both arms at the same time in the same direction, not alternately as shown. Lastly, I don't care how in shape you are or how tough you are, resting your abdomen/chest on a pad is not going to work on any rough terrain or you're going to be puking your guts out in no time. F-A-I-L!!!

Essas bikes são muito baixas! Eu prefiro meu triciclo mesmo, que é três marchas mais corre quando preciso! Ainda é mais alta também! Aros laterais 24, e na frente aro 20! 🚲😏

We bought a bike similar to this back in the late 80's early 90's from a company in Canada when I was a Coach at Illinois. It worked for amputees but was a beast for paras. I am a T=12, L-1 para incomplete and I flopped all over the place attempting to ride it. Widen the stance of the rear wheels and lock the rear suspension down and then paras and quads will have no problem riding the bike. Interesting concept but not for most of us with an TSCI.

If you open the rear tire clearance by 15-20 cm and increase the angle of the handlebar ball in the front by 10 degrees, it seems to corner much better. It looks good. Recumbent :)

I saw one of these a few years ago, and have wanted one ever since, but could never find them online because I had no idea what they were called. Well, today I stumbled upon the word “hand trike” and can finally search them up now! I can walk just fine, but would still prefer one of these over a regular bicycle. How easy/difficult are they to maneuver/speed up?

Can a person with no core control use it without constantly tipping over due to the leaning design aspect (T6 paraplegic for example)?

You would be better off buying a Triride instead, it has massive power and speed, although they are very expensive ... but worth it

@@DerelictusAnima Wow! You're really lucky to have a Triride. I've been saving up for 2 years for one, they are the dream wheelchair attachment. What kind of speed + distance can you get out of yours?
@DerelictusAnima5 ай бұрын
@@ThomasBarnes89 Yeh the money part isn't easy, know that all too well. Set top speed (that I asked) on mine is 25 mph in a straight on a freshly charged battery, power and top speed drops as the battery goes down. The range completely depends on the conditions you're riding in and how much power / speed you're using.
