With sampling you just hear it. Everyone might have their specific approach but there is no method imo. You just find stuff and you listen to it and you hear those moments that make you smile and say "that right there"

I highly dislike the term "underrated"! I dont use it in my narrative about any GREAT... because "ratings" are OVERRATED! Somehow I do know and admire waaay more than don't know the artists often place in that category... To me the term underrated diminishes their art even more...STOP USING IT! IYKYK He is the MAESTRO OF THE REMIX‼️🎯💯

It brings tears of joy after grief that death must meet us in that final hour and I’m glad Ka has now met the greatest part of life which is found in the end But down here on earth in some dark hours , I’ll miss Ka. Because your writing was never a pen wasted.

I discovered Laura Nyro through a Woolworth's record bin of reduced-in-price 45 r.p.m.s. I paid about 60 cents for what turned out to be a two-sided incredible experience. When I got home I put the record on my turntable to see just what I had bought. The two songs I heard were "Billy''s Blue "and "Goodbye Joe". The songs and her voice were so incredible I had to learn all about this lady, and it was so interesting to discover some of my favorite songs by other artists were ones she had written. Undeniably among the best of the best song writers, and a fine vocalist as well. Her death from ovarian cancer saddened me a great deal. Most definitely gone too soon.

One of my all time favorite DJ's growing up in Jersey, I was a regular at Club Zanzibar, I was so regular I didn't have to stand in line. We danced all night into the morning, Tony was recording on radio from 10 pm to 1 am, the party only got started after the recording, he would kick it up another notch. The preforming artist wouldn't show up until after 3 am, it was a great time. I had a change of cloths as I would sweat through the first set.

How he doesn't even know the history of "jacking" and why all the classic early house records or even DJs from Chicago had the "jack" word on their names??? Jacking used to be the name of the way the dancers moved to certain records, jacking their bodies to the beat. If you watch documentaries about Chicago and the house music, everyone mentioned how the clubs were packed with people jacking. And that's why it's the house that "Jack" built. On the other hand, NY house heads weren't jacking, only in Chicago. Jacking is still a foundational step/movement from the House dance nowadays, to jack your body. It just shows how little Laurent actually researched about the true origins and roots of house music in Chicago. I mean it's House music 101 and even a subgenre of House music too. I'm from Spain and the first thing I've noticed when doing my research on the origins of Chicago house culture was this actually. I even learned basic house dance steps to understand how people was reacting to this music back then in the club, in a whole different level to what HipHop or Salsa heads would do. People gotta do their homework, get involved and that's how they will really understand the real culture.
