Great video and set up, just wondering what`s stopping the lead screw from dropping through the bottom bearing.

Imagine creating a decorative enclousure using solder as a decorative seam "weld"? This brings complex shape metal working in reach of the table-top hobbyist!

Wäre so etwas optisch möglich? Gruß Holger

Very nice, I had been looking for exactly the same how lens are made at very basic Can you also shade some light on how progressive lens profile will look like and may be little more on geometry and calculation on achieving certain power Any way I can directly communicate with you? An often overlooked measurement that can affect your CAM accuracy is the diameter of the bit(s) being used. If the actual diameter is different (usually smaller) than the nominal diameter, using the nominal introduces inaccuracies into your CAM.

If you've got a lathe you can improve the sanding and polishing process by rotating the lens at slow speed :) I made some lenses like that out of PMMA and they were < 3 microns rms

i would rather take the approach used in pre-tensed concrete slabs (when the part allows it) with stiff metal reinforcements , but in this case it would be POST TENSING

My cnc pen plotter is going on the wrong side. When it draws the picture, it is not in this direction, but it is moving to the left side. how to fix it? Is it a software problem?

Has anyone created an 'auto wire injector' as a second 'print head' to make crazy strong 3d printed parts automatically? I searched, didn't find anything, but it seems very doable and obvious?
@googleyoutubechannel8554
@googleyoutubechannel8554 9 ай бұрын
by 'inject', I just mean bend and cut mechanism on cartesian head that lays down a shaped wire path on top of specific 3d print layers, during printing, so the wire shape is encapsulated into the print as it's laid down, reenforcing it like in the video but automatically. Seems you just need functions: extrude, bend, cut, and maybe shift axis, bit of corresponding gcode, and voila.

100.03 that is 3 hundreds of a mm... doesnt really matter unless u want to make a perfect fit like F1 engines... where u drop ur head inside the block and u dont know where the cut line is...

Next step: find a tool making it possible to get the CNC to polish it. Btw, by using steel rods you can make registration holes and CNC from both sides. It's quite easy to get to work with enough accuracy.

For pull strenght the shape is already wrong. Stupid to make a part that is not suitable for the job, and trying to reinforce it.

For the longitudinal screw part at the end of the video why not have holes at both ends of the screw, you can then thread the fibres through with a rod or 'needle' repeatedly so its like a bobbin and you have many parralel tow threads. You then cut the looped ends at the top and bottom, seal the cyclinder and pour in the epoxy.... You should be able to get a much denser 'infill' this way. Btw. for bigger parts what about standard infil and load up those 'pockets' with chopped fibre + epoxy mix... I.e. the printed part walls becomes the mould for an internal 'forged CF' part: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGaznqSDZ5l7e80

Do you have figuered out the best way to reinforce 3d printed parts right now? Or a more refined way? Have you tried plastic welding like they use in autosgop repairs?

I've heard other people say chip evacuation is difficult. I think it has to do with having to run at a high RPM because most of the cheap spindles don't have great torque at lower RPMs.
