I think this genre, yeah, the genre, not only the good examples of it, is just not for me. I liked BotW and TotK, but ehhh, I can't sink hours and hours into those kinda games when there's no sense of urgency and emotional involvement with the story and characters. Sometimes these games do it very well, but usually most of it, even in the good games, is just too sparse, not in depth enough, mostly because of the nature of the genre itself.

Yeah, Fallout New Vegas. Everyone talks about it like a huge amazing game, but I found out recently that I can't cope with Bethesda's gameplay (or Bethesda-like, wtv), even though I've played Skyrim for hundreds of hours, so I'll probably never experience the amazing setting and characters. I only buy games that are on sale, have alot of replayability and games with big modding scene. I dont really buy Indie games because they are usually just "Play 1 time and never touch it again." But I bought like Skyrim, Fallout 4, Elden Ring, Terraria and Minecraft when they were on sale just because they have replayability with big modding scenes.

Zelda and Elden Ring are the exceptions. Most of them just have nonsense collectibles and boring fetch quests. I prefer more linear games like RE4. I recently finished NInja Gaiden 2 Black and NG3 Razors Edge, much better experiences.
