Did the old AirBnB charge you extra for electricity and water bills at the end of your stay? and if they did, was it itemized per kW or just a rounded up figure for the 3 months?

We specifically pick the one that didn’t mention extra charges for utilities. Some of them do but we never stay in those so can’t really say :(

How long was your last lease? Was it easy to get your deposit back?

It was a 3 month lease, so we had to go through airbnb. Since i thought it might be difficult to get an internet set up for only 3 months. So we ended up paying quite a bit of a premium. At first we didnt think we were gonna stay this long haha edit: since it was through airbnb there was no deposit needed

Crystal Mall dumplings are better than Dynasty in Vancouver. Tried Din Tai Fung in California. It's not bad!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the vlog! I don’t think the tip is mandatory but usually we do. I think it’s minimum 1 month but it depends case by case. I know by law it should be at least 1 month, but a lot fly under the radar I believe.

@ Thanks for the response. Can you share the tenure of your lease please? One youtuber and his commenter told me its a minimum of 6 months to start for condo so its interesting you are sharing a new perspective. Wow you guys drink about as much coffee as I do. I drink mine at home, so it's much cheaper. While in Thailand. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, and Pattaya, I just could not find a good cup of coffee. Even went to my favorite, Dunkin Donuts. You are definitely correct in telling people to get a place near the BTS or MRT. I'm 70 and ALWAYS book near one. Even with that I lost 10 pounds in two weeks just from walking around. And walking up and down those stairs to the BTS... I thought i was going to die. The bright side is you can go almost anywhere with very little hassle. Except during peak times. Their mass transit is clean, safe, efficient, cheap, and so convenient. Unlike subways in the US where people are mugged, killed, or set on fire. And are filthy and smell like a toilet. I miss Thailand. What keeps me from moving there? New Thailand tax law for 2024, and my health care would cost a fortune.

Thank you for sharing! My husband and I are planning to move to Thailand, and we need to be mindful of our sugar and carb intake. Do you know of any grocery stores in Bangkok that are similar to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s, or any stores that sell organic produce and ingredients for cooking sugar-free and low carb meals?

Hmm good question. We weren’t cooking much since so we never really pay attention to those market. I remember seeing a super market like that in Samyan Mitrtown bottom floor though.

@@edwardmartin7753 they weren’t clear about it. Some ppl doing a day trip but I also heard that some got deny because of that. So we just want to do a longer trip instead.

Been binge watching you guys and kept saying you (Linda) looks very familiar, then it hit me, you look exactly like my cousin except for a rounder face. lol. I'm glad you guys are living the life in Bangkok. You're living my dream right now. I can easily retired early in Thailand but my school aged kids are holding us back. Like you I can easily live off of dividends but I also have rental income I can live on. My investment portfolio will go to my kids in the future, trying to build generational wealth for my kids and financial literacy is the greatest gift you can give to your kids.

You're living my dream, if we didn't have kids in school still, my wife and I would be retired in Bangkok too. $2,500 a month for a higher quality of life than in the US is a bargain. $2,500 a month in passive income isn't that difficult to do here in the US. Been to Bangkok three years in a row and absolutely love it. Can't wait until our kids grow up and on their own so we can't live in SE Asia.

As for living in other countries right now we just love Thailand that any other country doesn’t seem appealing. We’d like to explore other parts of Thailand in the near future but right now there’s still so much we want to do here in bkk. 😄

Wow! Amazing that you guys have retired so young! I wasn’t even 1/2 as smart at your age! Well done to both of you for your focus and drive! May I ask an odd question? Is that a fan around your neck? I’m asking coz I tried one (my rosacea does NOT love the Bangkok humidity) but it was heavy and bulky and I ended up returning it! Would be interested if you have one that you like!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. We are very grateful to have accomplish this goal at the age we are now. The item around my neck is actually headphones. I’ve seen a few neck fans before but haven’t used it. But I can see that there very useful especially in the bkk heat😊
