I can’t give up spaghetti, so those low-carb Korean root noodles have been a godsend. Pizza is my other Achilles heel. Haven’t found anything close in quality to wheat crust for pizza, though. Ideas?

I allow myself cheat days to stuff my fat face but I don't use them. I have no sugar cravings at all and would probably get sick by sugar binging. Same with wheat. No desire for it. I never feel deprived. I have been no carb very low carb for so long that I would not feel normal. I have no wish to get fat or watch my near perfect sugars spike. I know the damage that comes from sugar and wheat. I never want to travel that road again after so many years of quality permanent change to my life

This. Some people think I have killer willpower, but the truth is that I don't *want* to eat junk. I don't ever again want to feel the way I used to feel. Most of what's in the grocery store doesn't even look like food to me.

I eat strawberries often, and I tend to put 1/4 apple in a batch of chicken salad. I'll eat half a grapefruit if it's there, but I don't buy them. That's about it. Oh, and I use frozen mango slices to make chutney, but a batch lasts us months!

I have no issues with eating some carbs on the weekend. Sunday I eat breakfast eggs sausage and one slice of toast. the other six I do intermittent fasting 18hours. Guess I'm the exception I eat a carb on occasion and not worry a bit. I did wonder how long it took me to get back burning fat so I got a MOJO. I find I do not want carbs for the most part but I do CHEAT.

I drove home from a Funeral last Saturday. I decided to eat a Double Chip Chocolate Muffin with my coffee at McDonald’s during my rest period in the middle of my long drive. I eat something bad at Maccas normally once every 3 months but an insulin spike is better than falling asleep at the wheel.

This was an excellent mini-historical lesson about sugar and its infiltration into our daily diets. I have to admit that even though I consider myself a pretty faithful low-carber (with most of your books) that I still plan "fun" meals and desserts for birthdays and some holidays. I grew up with the kind of family traditions where Food equated Love, and it's hard to break away from that. So thank goodness that we have you to guide us toward delicious yet healthy choices!

For types of foods you should consider eating for Memorial Day to stay on your Low-Carb lifestyle? We do not sell burgers, brats, beers or other foods and beverages listed. We do not own any grocery stores or beverage companies but are trying to give you great ideas for planning your Memorial Day celebration. This. A million years ago, in the first few years I was low carb, and when I still saw/spoke to my MIL, TNBIM (That Nice Boy I Married) and I drove the 12 hours to see her. We were going to be there over my birthday, so she said she would cook me a birthday supper. She asked TNBIM what I could and couldn't eat and what I liked. He said I would eat any red meat and was especially fond of lamb, that I'd eat any non-starchy vegetables --- broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, you know the list -- and salads. What I didn't eat, he told her, was starches and sugar. My birthday rolled around (as it will this coming Wednesday). She roasted a leg of lamb and served it with -- I forget, but one of the green veggies and a salad. I ate copiously of all of these, honestly complimenting and thanking her. But she had also made twice-baked potatoes and bought an ice cream cake. I, of course, did not eat them. She was *furious*. TNBIM was, as always, on my side. <3 He had told her I didn't eat starches or sugar. I could only see her deliberately serving them to me as a deliberate act of trying to get me to choose her, in some weird way, over my diet. It didn't work.

That is a them problem, not a you problem. Keep saying no, then changing the subject. It will become obvious who the problem is. If they catch on and say, “You keep changing the subject!” I would be tempted to say, “How clever of you to notice.” But then, I’m a lifelong smart ass. It runs in the family - you should meet my niece. You might try, “This seems weirdly important to you and for the life of me I cannot see why. How about you pay attention to your plate and I’ll pay attention to mine.” Hang tough long enough and people give up. By the time I’d been doing this for a few years people just assumed, “Dana won’t eat that,” and didn’t even try.

OK, now that I've made these...my husband LOVES them. He's working now on the second batch. The pancakes are just 2 net carbs each. I use just one cup of CarbQuick, 2 pats of butter, one egg, the heavy cream and half a cup of water. By the way, you say to barely mix them, but then add water until smooth . You can’t have both. Too much water or butter will make the pancakes watery when poured and very thin. I also add a tsp of baking power. Let the batter stay thick, if you want your pancakes not to be thin.

Good video. I recently started a Keto lifestyle and miss things like pancakes, rolls, etc. Almond flour makes things too gritty for my taste, so I'll definitely give this recipe a try. Here's a thought on making round pancakes....use egg ring molds until you have to flip the pancakes. How long can the batter be saved if not used all at once? Please keep up the good work!

I used some milk that was going off. No egg. 1/2 cup of mix. I didn't use enough milk so the batter while pourable was too thick to cook through without burning. TBH an egg would've helped but I didn't want to blow an egg on 3 or 4 pancakes.

Your carbs per serving are waaaay off here. Carbquik only has 2 net carbs per 1/3 cup, your other ingredients barely add 2 net carbs, so at 2 cups of carbquik, that's 12 net carbs, 14 net carbs max total, and you say this makes 20 pancakes? that's 2.1 net carbs for a serving of 3 pancakes.
@AndrewDiMino
@AndrewDiMino 4 жыл бұрын
NOTE FROM ANDREW: This CarbQuik Pancakes recipe, direct from CarbQuik’s manufacturer, Tova Industries, claims to make 20 pancakes and yes, you can get 20 NORMAL sized pancakes from this recipe. Some people are saying they make much less than 20 but I think those people are used to the SUPER SIZE, high carb pancakes you get at IHOP that are the size of a plate!
