Im a maintenance tech at a court house and i put a nice shine on my boots and i have had lawyers sheriffs deputies and even a judge ask me about my boots

can you shine old shoes using kiwi?
@jeremiahkerry2 күн бұрын
The aerosol should be kept vertical in use and the shoe rotated otherwise the spray will not work efficiently.

If the previous owner had sent them back to Allen Edmonds for "recrafting" they would have told him they couldn't do it! You've outdone the original manufacturer and given those shoes a new lease on life looking better, frankly, than they probably did when they were brand new.

I have always wondered how a pair of shoes end up in this condition. Was this negligence ? or was this a period of hard times where the monies were need for something much more critical. I hope the never end up on the latter. You did a great job

What an absolute waste of precious life. Nobody is going to lie on their deathbed relishing in memories of mirror shining some shoes.

The purpose of #ShineYourShoes is about taking care of the things you own. Living in the moment. Respect for self and for others. Being the best version of yourself that you can be. Those lessons will definitely affect your life and those around you. I can promise that mean spirited comments on KZbin are DEFINITELY a waste of your time. It’s probably best you take your own advice. Just a thought.

Hoe does a nice pair of shoes get so wrecked? Do you know how much walking it takes to wear a hole into a shoe?

They took 6 months to deliver and only after I complained, one week later they send me shoes that were too tight and painful to wear, no accountability at all.

Preston! Love your channel. I am working on a pair of Ecco Wingtips. After acetone on cotton pads until clean, the brogueing and toe holes are still dark with radiating staining. Should I get in to the nooks and crannies with acetone on a toothbrush?

Due to lifelong Orthopedic problems and the need to put orthotics in my shoes, I went to Carmina's store locally at 45th St. in New York, hoping I could get fit with a quality pair of dress shoes that I could fit my orthotics into and wear comfortably. Instead, I was met by a pushy salesman who was just hellbent on selling whatever they had in stock. When I got home and double checked the Detroits he had sold me, I saw that my orthotics were in fact cutting into the sides of the shoes, and would in no time be damaging the linings. Although I could probably order a perfect pair of custom Carminas for myself, I can't trust this company anymore. I'm just taking these shoes back.

Damn shame you ruined that bag, sometimes less is more. A little lanolin and that would have been a keeper, now you should mercifully trash it.
@TheElegantOxford9 күн бұрын
What are you talking about? My dad STILL uses the bag years later and people still complement him on it. It’s all good if you don’t like it but others do.
@algonzales18099 күн бұрын
@@TheElegantOxford By your own admission you screwed it up, just stating what is apparent. Should have stopped after the saddle soap. The ones who compliment your Dad on it are surely outnumbered by the ones who don't say what they think so that means little really.. If that was a pair of shoes then they would have to go to the bin. No?
@TheElegantOxford9 күн бұрын
@algonzales1809 it didn’t turn out how I wanted but it wasn’t a mistake at all. Looking back, I think it was successful. I definitely know more now, than I did years ago but that’s how you learn and grow. I can’t read other’s minds and neither can you. I can only appreciate the compliments my dad gets and am grateful for them. Have a good one.

Try again with the Dremel using the more solid lint attachment. From the video it looked like you used some sort of rotary brush (can't be sure). The lint attachment could work. Probably you need to dip it into the water though. The spinning motion would push out most of the water almost instantly, hopefully leaving enough humidity in the lint. BTW, I'm not an expert of shoe shining, just someone with decent DIY experience to get a sense of how to replicate the basics of one process using some other tools. I'll try it myself. If I manage to get a decent shine, I'll let you know.
