Too many flaws with his concept, if there are no particles present the vacuum space still exists. The Universe is mostly empty, the ordinary matter is just 4% so how is empty space holds without any particles present

A lot of issues with this idea: 1. Space-time is an anthropocentric concept after all. What do we mean when we say above and beyond space-time? We're using languages that utilise symbols to allow us share ideas among different individuals; but then how can we ever begin to not even think, but even 'imagine' any reality so-called 'outside' of space-time? The very notions of inside/outside only makes sense in the language which is limited to the physical/mental/cosmic boundaries of the so-called spacetime. 2. Where do the particles that he is describing come from? What's their origin? What does he mean by saying "mysteriously"? Is that yet another case of give me a (fundamental) miracle, and I'll give you the rest kinda argument? If true, then literally infinite other similar arguments can be made simply by taking the "first mystery" as granted! 3. How can anything so-called 'interacts' or even collapse (the way we define collapse in QM) if there is absolutely no time? If these interactions occur outside of time, then by the very definition they cannot be called 'interactions' or occurrences to begin with. It can be argued that time is just the 'amount of change', but the only way we can approach time as an objective reality is to imagine it to be continuous and not quantized, otherwise we'd go back to the first issue as to what's the origin of time? And if it's continuous, then the issue becomes even more deep, simply because when we're talking about a reality that stands beyond time-space, then we need to first know where/when does time stops? Or rather began? If it's eternal, then all of such ideas that he is talking about goes out of window for obvious reasons. 4. How can something be measured, or rather observed above and beyond space-time, in a so-called "outside" of space-time? The very act or event of measurement of any kind by definition need to take place where measurement has meaning to begin with, within space-time! And if space-time is doomed as Nima Hamed Arkani suggests by very deep mathematical arguments, then at the very least we need a proper replacement that goes not only beyond our current space-time models, but also beyond our current mainstream mathematical approaches. In other words, we need a new language (mathematical or else) to allow us make sense of "that" which stands beyond space-time. I hate to say it, but many of these guests thoughts are very shallow and superficial without much substance.

Crazy intelligent but kinda lost me on the overpopulation of earth. Too much empty space and our rate of advancement will solve our scarcity dilemma. I don’t care how intelligent someone is. No one contains the knowledge to speak definitively on “overpopulation”, especially when our technological advancements are reducing our impact on our environment on trend. Too caviler on that subject.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!!!! Wave functions expand spherically, at the speed of light. They interact with particles the way quantum mechanics calculates them to. These expanding wave functions carry the physics constants as a characteristic and spread them throughout space.

Incredible presentation. Seems to be doubling down on the question of "what makes an observer?". At a time when the universe was young, it presumably had no observers at all, so were all worldlines extending all possibilities across all particles? Did the Big Bang actually happen after "an observer" came to be? May explain inflation (filling in an enormous past all at once)? May also explain why reality exists at all - so long as there is no observer, all possibilities extend infinitely forward, but once it creates a path to an observer, that path becomes real. Like lightning seeking shortest resistance path. Really need to nail down the definition of an observer now!! I think this may have crossover to Wolfram's Ruliad. The universe is trying everything all at once, but once it finds a way to make an observer, only then does it put ink to paper. Would explain the fine tuning problem too. Jeez. Need to process.

There is a new fundamental theory for spacetime which emerges from the Standard Model of physics based on a unified theory of emergent spacetime and gravity which also produce Einstein's equation (General Relativity) as a low energy approximation, the cosmological constant Lamda, and Newton's gravitational constant G at the same time. They are related to the total baryon number of visible the Universe! However, spacetime in the new theory is one of the intrinsic properties of matter, like the temperature. One of the other outcomes of the new theory is that it also provide a resolution to the quantum measurement problem since it introduces two type of spacetime, the meta- one and the emergent one! For those who are interested, see DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.10052785 (unify special relativity and quantum mechanics) DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.10361248 (further unify relativistic quantum field theory for the standard model and gravity)

The only problem I'm seeing is, if areas of spacetime can be separated and removed from the "update" for which the past world lines can be determined at time of rejoining, how can you ever determine when "now" is? It's like arguing there is no past and all spacetime states could be determined at "the end" (whatever that may be defined to be).. in which case, the only "now" is the end of the universe/spacetime

The Cat is a living being so it would observe it's own space time, but you can just replace the cat with non living interactions. My research is mainly Chaldean Numerology. Space is 11 the master planner, and Time is 22 the master builder. 1+1=2, so that space is a holographic universe, but I don't fully grasp the missing 3 in space, except that it can be linked with the missing 7 in time, because everything is made in 6 vibrations. Indeed, 777, is three fold. The answer is something like the Sleeping or Dreaming God maintains the physical universe.

Biology isn't memorization and terms. It's systematics. On that subject, systems biology is as informative about the meaning and origin of consciousness as physics is. Introductory math and physics assembles into the broader science in exactly the same way as biology. Individuals simply have different aptitudes.

Curt, The problems that physics and cosmology have presently is that there were perceptual mistakes that were made early in the 20th century that were accepted as real. Hubble's choice of metaphors to describe the expansion of space is perhaps the most obvious mistake. In principle, if you make a mistake and can work mathematical justifications into a proof of the mistake as being real, then the solution to current dilemma is to stop believing period. By having a true understanding of an observation that has been verified in reality, not merely in satisfying the sense of sight, before developing a plethora of theories in the hopes that they are true, some of this dilemma might be rolled back or at least out of the way. When Prof. Suskind makes the admission of failure regarding string theory, he was right to voice that out loud. What also needs to be voiced, perhaps even more importantly is the corner that he alluded to when he mentioned that young physicist are afraid to embrace a problem, that is, academics and academic intolerance of new and possibly more generative ideas has carefully created a protective shell of ignorance out of which it becomes impossible to have a new and original idea. Boltzmann was a prime example of what young physicists don't wish to be saddled with....ridicule is extremely painful. Yet every new idea has always forced the person whose idea it was to endure academic ridicule. The essential problem in the sciences, especially physics, as far as I can tell, not being a physicist myself (not even close) but as one who has made significant discoveries in the area of acoustics that still have not been explainable by physicists, is the problem of belief. Avoid believing. Stay away from theorizing about nonsense simply because it is fun. Multiverses are not provable. Therefore stop thinking or positing that notion as a possibility. Stop generating theories (beliefs) about matters that can't be proven as applicable to and in reality. I would ever suggest that scientists stop having fun at the expense of what is provable, useful, and possible. String theory for example has cost the taxpayer far too much money for a dead end after almost 60 years of paying people to think about it. The loss of credibility that scientists have created regarding their specific areas of interest over the past 60 years is the reason why politicians are aiming at removing support for science. Without addressing this side of the problem and treating this side as just as important, those politicians will succeed in impoverishing the sciences until they eventually fizzle out. I used to ask the question: How much time is required for a scientific enterprise using a specific idea or way of thinking before they communally decide to change the way of thinking to one that might be more productive? In my field, the standard scientific method has been applied to trying to understand something about acoustics for more than 250 years without success. I have solved the problems entirely on my own nickel over the last 50 years, yet the solutions need to be addressed as to a concrete physical explanation. I think that if young physicists were informed about the solutions to my field of acoustics, they might be encouraged to have something real to work on that would be beneficial to mankind.

"Nothing" does not exist in metaphysical reality. Nothing is a linguistic term and a relative term therefore not a scientific term (linguistic terms can mean anything). You can not identify a universal "nothing" anywhere since we can measure energy, everywhere. This physicist is trying his best to be a philosopher however, his philosophical skills are rudimentary relative to a high-level philosopher, at best.
