Is Everett a suburb of Seattle, or is it a town? Confused Australian who only knows suburbs to be within reasonably close radius to the city it serves.

Don’t come to Seattle.. highest state and local sales tax rates, high crime, elicit drug use everywhere. Police response almost non existent. Extremely high population of homeless most of whom are drug addicts. There are far more negatives than positives. People are rude and unfriendly. The only positive is the summer weather.

Seattle and King County has become a really sad place. If you want to pay 400k over the average house price in the country, have your car broken into or stolen, fight the traffic and deal with the crowds and other crimes this might be the place for you.

Bellevue is too expensive for most people. A small rambler is 1.2 million😮The traffic from most parts of Seattle is terrible and 1/2 bridges has a toll. No diversity and if you are of color your children may get teased and degraded😐 Homeless people are everywhere and Bellevue is not exempt and criminals from other areas go there to commit crimes like stealing high end cars.

been in Seattle 25+ years, i'll always have a footprint in the PNW, and i am BAFFLED by this guy's choices. these areas are great if you want to feel like you live in NYC or San Fran - "walkable" sure, but crowded, noisy, busy, congested... and honestly there is no reason to move to the PNW (besides milder weather) if you dont have a car to go hiking and on road trips (you can rent one obv too) - without all the awesome outdoor stuff its just another (great) city. my three picks: Northgate Green Lake north Ballard, NOT central Ballard all for an investment angle, and a quality of life aspect. esp if you want to be in the same house for 20 years. any of the areas he mentions are strictly for the under 35 set. you dont want to be raising kids in those areas if you can help it. *fuck ANY purchase with an HOA for one thing. now if you work downtown MAYBE what he's saying makes sense but ONLY if you make $200K+ annually. also, Shoreline is booming, that's where i live, feels just like your part of the city only 10 miles north.

May I make a suggestion? Instead of pointing out giant retailers such as Rite Aid, feature unique local businesses like Ostrom Drugs, and niche businesses like Kenmore Camera. It's fine to promote the smash pad for summer fun but it would be nice if you also mention that children love to visit Walace Swamp Creek Park and splash in a natural stream of cooling water the park also features trails to explore and rustic picnic areas.

Nice video but I want to point out one bit of misinformation. 19:36 I've lived in Kenmore since 1960. Log Boom Park IS NOT named for the SeaFair Log Boom. In my childhood years there were massive log booms floating on the lake there. Logging operations all around Lake Washington floated logs to Kenmore where they were loaded on trains.

No state income tax BUT 'they' get U in many, many way... ... sales tax is above 9.99% in every community ... service labor is taxed, that's right, like if a plumber charges U $2k labor, the labor is taxed ... service fee's on everything Having said just that much all of the above is not happening in every community in Calif.

Hilarious. North Bend is 35 minutes to Safeco. Mercer st in Seattle from Westlake Ave to I-5 (about 4 street lights) takes 45 min-1 hr. Proximity by distance means shit. Having said that North Bend is no longer affordable. 10 years ago it was 1/3 of the price it is now.

Umm...you left out Lakewood WA. I pay $675 a month for my own place. There's multiple train/bus stations just a few blocks away from my home. Lots of foot traffic shopping. Lots of restaurants. I can walk to the station and be in Seattle in about a little over an hour. "Public overnight camping and open drug use" is strictly prohibited.

LMAO, The median rent in Lakewood, WA, for a 1B/1Ba is $1,549. Furthermore, you're unequivocally delusional if you think what you typed holds any shred of validity. Lakewood is absolutely, without a doubt, one of the worst locations in the Seattle Metro area to live. Was also routinely featured on numerous seasons of Cops going all the way back to 1987, has and continues to have one of the largest gang and drug issues in the state and also features a violent crime rate of 23 per 100K people. Thanks for the laugh, though

I feel one of the biggest advantages to living in Bellevue is the ease driving North, East, South, or West on the freeways. Whenever there are traffic backups, the driver has more options on how to go around them.

I moved from San Francisco to Seattle in March of 2023 and I couldn't be happier living here, it ain't cheap to live in Seattle, but definitely cheaper than SF, they call Seattle the Emerald City for its beauty and I couldn't agree more, hard to make friends and the Seattle freeze ain't no joke, it's real! 🤣

You are covering nice bedroom communities, but you are overlooking even better areas. Bainbridge Island & Poulsbo are 5 miles & 18 miles away, with very affordable housing. Poulsbo the more affordable. Why not spend 30 minutes on a ferry versus an hour in stop & go traffic? Many ride bikes to the ferry. Some guy has a lot Christmas tree on his bike every December! We live on the Olympic Peninsula, 33 miles from the ferry & 5 miles added on ferry ride. We are 1.5 hours from Seattle, which is equal to commenting from Auburn. We live among farmland and dense forests. In addition to homes being had at lower prices (minimum five acres) property tax is 1/3 of a small house in a tiny lot in Auburn), we are from Auburn.

Cap Hill blew the hell up in the last 20 years. it the mid 90s when i got here, a buddy in north seattle told me "thats the gay area, no one goes there" i of course didnt take his word for it, but he was born here so his perspective wasnt horribly off, and he didnt mean it as a hateful thing. but going out there now vs then, if you dont live there, is massive hassle. the lack of parking alone...
