I live in Everett and people also need to realize that Everett is more than just the downtown area. I moved here last April and absolutely love it here. There’s a fantastic sense of community. I love that I have a view of the Olympics and the cascades and Mt Baker and depending on where I am I can see Mount Rainier. There are free movies and free music series in the summertime, winter tide festival, street markets, lovely eclectic shops, Live local music and more. Not sugarcoating it there is some bad absolutely, there is an every city, there are some sketch areas like in every city there is a homeless population and graffiti and trash but that is not the entire city. Honestly, if people want to be close to Seattle, but far enough away to make their dollar go farther but still be able to get into the city for concerts or whatever, Everett is a really smart choice.

@@amybilldt7110you have no idea how crucial Texas is in most cities with crime & mass shootings. Scorching heat 80% of the time every year. Not to forget the southern hostility. I’m pretty certain Washington can’t be as bad as Texas, despite the cost of rent & buying a home.

Compared to Seattle and Bellevue in the south, Everett sits closer to the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the entrance of Puget Sound, has more access to the cool wind from the Pacific, and is therefore not so hot in the summer. The Olympics mountains blocks wind from the ocean for Seattle.

The first house you pointed to @13:45 was the home of Senator Henry M. Jackson I believe. Jackson High School in Everett and the UW's Jackson School of International Policies are both named after him.

We have 2 long term that have been really stable and take good care of the property. The other is a midterm and going well. Our 4th one is still in renovation.

I lived in Everett from 1987, to 2001, after living in Ballard Seattle from 1979-'87. I COULD NOT WAIT TO LEAVE!!! Place nearly KILLED me. In fact THAT IS MY BLOCK he walked and I grew up in that pink and white house on his left. ALL of us kids in THAT upscale neighborhood could not WAIT to bail! When I left in 2013, it was still a clean place. I went back to visit in 2021 and got REALLY scared! The bartender at one of my favorite haunts KICKED ME OUT instead of serving me, assuming I was an ADDICT?! WTF?! That place had made a good GRAND off of me as a teenager. Meanwhile, the trash and tweakers lined the once clean streets. I had to give $100 CASH on TOP of $100 on a credit card just to get into the SAME dang Motel 6 that had made thousands off of me over the years too because TWEAKERS trash rooms now! I could not WAIT to scram-was SO scared, where I once felt SAFE. Everybody I grew up with could not WAIT to leave! NONE of us live in Everett anymore. No WAY!
