Pushups got me huge in prison added to my bench power when guys couldn't lift weights due to weather..discrepancies ect..some would do in house pushups pulluos ect. Modified off benches chairs bunks ect... the guys who lifted weights only were way smaller them the guys who did both body weight stuff and weights 10000 percent noticed this early on I did 12 years im 40 still doing dips n chins keeping most what I had in prison just doing 1 work out a week fairly low volume fairly high intensity and im feeling better at 39 then I did at 29 ..I five 9 185 pounds solid rock I can bench over 3 and dead and squat 450 plus easy

In prison I made a set up like this and it was absolutely killer. You can elevate it higher and superset it for chest flys (yes I changed my ways)

Adding instability to an exercise does not grow more muscle. It just makes the chance of an injury higher. Doing squats while standing on an exercise ball also does not help grow bigger legs.. this is just bro science and unnecessary risk.

I have straps that i hang from a pull up bar, the straps have handles, the instability of the straps makes it much more challenging. You can also kind of do a fly as you go down and then up and that makes it even harder. Makes you get a little squeeze at the top. I feel like it's one of the only bodyweight exercises that has got my chest sore. Very great exercise.
